An election technology company that has been the focus of consistent conspiracy theories
by Trump and his accomplices has sued the disgraced former President's lawyer Rudy Giuliani
for defamation after he pushed the "Big Lie" about election fraud on his podcast and TV appearances.

Dominion Voting Systems is seeking more than $1.3 billion in damages.

( Dominion will need to show Giuliani's statements harmed them. If they can, and they
wouldn't sue unless they were certain they could put forth a very good case,
then to avoid paying damages Giuliani would have to PROVE his defaming statements
about the Dominion voting machines were ALL FACTUAL....this should be good!)

May justice prevail, regardless the outcome.   As long as it is true justice.

Monday court filing that certain immigrants recently released by ICE in Texas were people
particularly vulnerable to harm from Covid-19, who have special pandemic-era protections
under a court order from last year. The "release them all, immediately" directive in Houston
-- which was rescinded in another internal email the next day -- was about these high-risk
detainees in particular, an ICE official said in yet another internal email.

Washington — Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit on Monday against
Rudy Giuliani, former disgraced President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, seeking
$1.3 billion in damages after Giuliani launched a wide-reaching "viral disinformation campaign"
that exposed the company "to the most extreme hatred and contempt," it said.

In New York court, "Lawyers defending democracy" has filed a ethics complaint calling for investigation and suspension of Giuliani's license over his work promoting false allegations about 2020 election.  Also New York bar association has opened an inquiry into whether Giuliani should be expelled.

And Trump doesn't want to pay him. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't amused.

It sure would be an interesting "Discovery Phase" if this ever made its way into a courtroom. This lawsuit would be the best thing to happen to "election integrity" since the summer when several states ignored the constitution and changed the election rules illegally.

Politifact rates mostly false Hawley's claim that Pennsylvania passed a new law allowing mail-in voting regardless of state constitution.  But Pennsylvania constitution doesn't forbid mail-in voting.  Also supreme court rejected a lawsuit challenging the law.
