I don't think they should have taken any days off, but if the players truly cared then they should donate there entire salary for the season, stop the season and go protest daily.

Multimillion dollar players who don't honor there contract and play. Imagine telling your boss you can't come to work because something happened you didn't like to someone you didn't even know 

Imagine being such a moron that you can't fathom people being allowed to take a moment to reflect or grieve an injustice or tragedy, yet also think that the only way to help is go to the other extreme and donate all your salary and never play again.

Maybe if it was your people being killed you might not feel like playing a game the same night. There are more important things than sports or work.

And FYI when Martin Luther King was killed many black employees were given the day off to grieve, it's human decency among non racists. Guess we know what you are though so you don't get it.

these guys are contracted to play basketball.  the rest of america can’t call off work to reflect lol.

people get shot and killed every weekend in america i have yet to see these guys reflect on that.  the moment their bosses hit them with cuts to pay they resumed the season what a joke.

I think the players are testing their power in the hopes of one day walking away and starting their own league.

I did not Know MLK when killed had a warrant out for his arrest for domestic violence and sexual assault and was trespassing on the premises and then tried resist arrest from the police..fist with verbal warnings...then physical altercation ...then taser....then goes to his car obtain a weapon..I mean..NBA did bring awareness to Jacob Blake...was not no innocent black man who the police just pulled over and got shot 7 times...Lets paint the whole picture. Blake was wanted on a warranty and was going to jail for multiple counts...He was evading arrest..that would have sent him to jail for a a very long time...

I agree that law enforcement shouldn't have killed these dudes , but they resisted arrest, didn't listen to officers command and were in general criminals.  I just believe all these NBA players are more worried about paycheck than someone they didn't know.

A black thug shot (point blank in head) and killed a white 5 year old in front of his sister.  Not a God Damn word from National media.  So don't give me shit bout your / these people.

I wanted to hear Blake's father talk about "how to raise your children" to respect law enforcement and "how NOT to get killed" by police officers. But no. It was just more race baiting with the racist Rev Al Sharpton by his side.

How come they Don't care about this? 

So in the last two weeks a 25 year old Black man killed a 5 year old white boy  (see the link i posted above) 

and a white police officer killed a grown back man who sexually assaulted someone and broke the law.

not a word is said about the disgusting act the 25 year old did to the 5 year old by the players they only acknowledge The Jacob Blake killing.

both these events were wrong, my point is the players should acknowledge both and not just the one they care about 

It's because one was carried out by a horrible psychopath and the other was carried out by the police officer paid tax dollars to protect and serve.

Please do not compare civilians killing little boys to Police Officers. The Police are supposed protect and serve all civilians.  Who put Jacob Blake in the position he was? Do you think all police relish the idea of shooting someone? The police were called to try to protect & serve the civilians that called them. Hell, according to the story being told, & the current catch & release system, he might not even have gone to jail if he had just complied. Why? Why not just settle down & diffuse the situation? We're all disgusted with what's going on in our country today, & shooting someone once much less seven times is sick, but you can't just ignore how most of these situations begin. Sort of to Vegas11787's point, picking & choosing your outrage is a bit hypocritical. This guy had a choice.........the kids that have been murdered didn't.

The NBA is a joke and has been for quite sometime. I finally started watching Last Dance on Netflix after several recommendations from friends. Really well done documentary to get way off topic. Man I miss those days, NBA had it going on in the 80’s and 90’s

Not only is today's NBA a joke ..the players are also..Recently, ESPN’s Marc Spears reported that only 20% of NBA players are registered to vote. This low number would be staggering in ordinary times. The NBA players have recently led the call for young people, especially young “black” people to vote this November..

The NBA players are being very hypocritical,by encouraging young black voters to vote “for change” in November, when they themselves aren’t even registered to vote......

It's clear,, NBA players should not be using their sports platform to promote social change...Just play the game and dunk the ball..

athletes are roll models for many.   How come they never talk about family structure,  education, employment?   Have not heard a peep about the killings in Chicago,  why? They glorify and turn convicts into martyrs.    No words about accountability and responsibility.
