Election fraud and how the media reacts

Bridgeport, Connecticut. The incumbant Democrat mayor of Bridgeport, a convicted felon who was convicted of corruption during his first stint as mayor won his job back, after a "seven year break" from politics while in prison, in an election after being released from prison. This past September in the Democrat primary there are videos of absentee ballot box stuffing. This went to court and the judge has thrown out the primary election and called for new one.

A judge’s order for a new primary in Connecticut’s largest city because of what he called mishandling of absentee ballots is fueling skepticism about the security of U.S. elections, as well as conspiracy theories involving the 2020 presidential election.

But election experts contend what happened in Bridgeport — people captured on surveillance video dropping stacks of ballots into outdoor collection boxes — is unique to Bridgeport, a working class city of more than 144,000 that has a long history of voting irregularities. At the very least, they said, it is pretty rare and shouldn’t be seen as evidence of widespread problems.

“In Connecticut, this is a problem here and here alone,” longtime election law attorney Bill Bloss, who is representing the Democratic candidate who successfully challenged the outcome of the city’s mayoral primary, said Thursday when asked about the case fueling misinformation about former President Donald Trump’s 2020 defeat.

Yeah, it's pretty sick UNIMAN. 

This country needs to go back to in person voting for EVERYONE,  except the elderly and disabled.     Problem solved.  France,  and many other countries,  have already made this decision.. 

Video showing people stuffing ballots doesn't necessarily prove anything illegal.  Election officials are required to check every ballot for matching serial number and signature on record.  This ensures returned ballot is same as the one mailed.  Even if there is no voting fraud, judge may order another election if there is uncertainty. Connecticut restrictive law requires voter to deposit completed ballot or designate someone to do it.  But in other states, one person can deposit multiple ballots for many people.  In the past, all major investigations found that widespread voting fraud is very rare.

Under Connecticut law, voters using a collection box must drop off their completed ballots themselves, or designate certain family members, police, local election officials or a caregiver to do it for them. Clark wrote in his decision that the volume of “mishandled ballots” left the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary.

What the AP article does not say;

Clark cited statistics showing that abnormally large numbers of absentee ballots were cast in certain voting districts and video evidence showing multiple people shoving stacks of ballots into drop boxes, in violation of state law.

"The videos are shocking to the court and should be shocking to all the parties," the judge wrote.

During testimony held before the judge last month, one person is seen on surveillance video stuffing stacks of papers into a ballot drop box. Gomes contends the person is Wanda Geter-Pataky, a Ganim supporter and vice chair of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee. In court, Geter-Pataky exercised her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and declined to answer questions. A former City Council member and current candidate also declined to answer questions about whether she appears in other videos.

Like Thirdperson, the AP does not report news on the case itself, who was involved and why he ruled the way he did. RATHER, the AP went right to "damage control" for the democratic party.

There are reasons Connecticut has these laws.
