Texas has begun investigating parents of transgender children for possible child abuse for providing them with gender-affirming care.
Among the first is the family of 16-year-old whose mother works for the state agency responsible for such investigations.
So I've never heard of the term "gender affirming care" and had to look it up. Gender-affirming health care has been described as “health care that holistically attends to transgender people's physical, mental, and social health needs and well-being while respectfully affirming their gender identity”.
OK, so many of us in here have kids & love them unconditionally. The way I read this is that I should support my daughter if she wants to play football & my son if he wants to be a secretary. Now hold on, I know these are old stereotypes but what I'm getting at is how can you challenge a parent for showing love & support to their child who may be different in the eyes of others?
How the fuck is this child care abuse?
