Baltimore "used to be" a popular convention city due to the Inner Harbor and the stadiums nearby, its nice there.

Now, lets say you have a list of 5 cities your considering for a convention (remember, these people are visitors, they don't know the lay of the land) - Baltimore gets a line through it for the immediate to mid-future (imo).

Let&#x27;s be honest here.  If there isn&#x27;t a conviction that city is going up in flames.  That being said I personally don&#x27;t have a problem with them being charged.  If they feel they have enough evidence to convict them then they should charge them.  I will wait and hear the evidence and then offer an opinion of innocence or guilt.Does everybody understand that to the Freddie backers that the word justice means conviction.  The definition to them has a different meaning to them than what a dictionary says.On a side note I find it interesting that the right is standing behind a union and the left wants them to go away.

You have to hand it to the Democratic Party, they've brainwashed the majority of an entire race to believe they're victims and that the police wish to kill them. The statistics are in complete disagreement with the argument/narrative.

Even the mayor promised justice for Freddie "believe you me, we're going to get justice for Freddie". This is an elected official making statements like this... How about just promising justice. Wouldn't that be the correct way to address this?

Even if all 6 are convicted, they'll riot/loot again, just watch...

Murphy also served on Mosby&#x27;s transition team after the election.Sounds like there is a  conflict of interest...

They deserved to be charged. Something is clearly wrong with the lens of which police view black communities and this creates unrest and distrust between residents and law enforcement.

Freddie Gray did not deserve the injuries inflicted upon him. The injuries were not only offensive but also the lack of compassion and regard to his pleas for medical help. They purely ignored it, (also see Eric Garner case). You can't deny that a system that was built on prejudice could potentially have remnants of their unethical operations. I've seen and heard stories of school shooters and people in car chases that were white and taken into custody alive; however a black man in a wal-mart holding a toy gun can be shot and killed without questions or an unarmed man running away can be shot and killed 8 times in the back. That is not law enforcement or protecting the people; that is blatant murder. If you look at the reports of Freddie Gray's spinal injuries, that was blatant excessive force which led to his death. There have been peaceful protests going on in Baltimore for months. Regardless of if you agree or disagree with the rioters, the riots are a karmic reaction of the negative energy cops have exuded over their community. Wherever you stand on the riots, the fact is that they were the effect of multiple wrongful incidents carried out by law enforcement that are happening way too frequently before our very eyes.

The riots are the result of animals wanting to burn and loot the city. Freddie was merely an excuse to mass together and cause havoc.

Burning an under construction senior center is really going to have a positive affect on all of this.

It&#x27;s not about the race of the cops, it&#x27;s about the race of the victims. Our policing system is racist in the manner of which they target people and react unjustly in situations where they claim to "fear for their life". Racism was rooted in the foundation of this country&#x27;s government, and though we have made great progress, there still exists problems with profiling and prejudice and the relationship between police and working poor communities. I think most who want justice will agree that all these cops should be found guilty, regardless of their color, and that police get the message that they must adhere to the same standard of law as the rest of us.

I wouldn&#x27;t go so far as to say the result of the riots destruction could possibly help anything. However, the looming issue has been steadily ignored when there has been peaceful protests going on across the country for awhile now. How many of these incidents would have to take place for people to get fed up with their government&#x27;s unjust actions? And the continuous peaceful protests that get no media coverage? These communities feel like they have no voice. The riots have forced us to realize the issues within our own system and that continuously oppressing and murdering people unjustly under the veil of a police badge can ultimately have real consequence and result in the anger of the oppressed.

Poor people get preyed on by the revenue generating police. That is a fact. I think it is a little simple minded to constantly point out race, but it is another situation where causation isn't exactly correlation. Poverty rate among Whites = 10% where it is 27% black.

Police aren't patrolling middle or upper class neighborhoods looking for drugs.

I think that the scope of the protests would be wiser to target specific ills of the police state that we currently live under.
-mandatory sentencing
-Drug war
-stop and frisk
-4th amendment violations
etc. etc. etc.

when something as nebulous as race gets center stage many people get turned off. it is just the sad facts of the situation.

&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;I am sure there are plenty of bad cops out there but most seem to miss the bigger picture. Police is dealt with a bad hand-- years of failed government policies. Instead of the politicians, they are the ones that have to face the consequences.&#xD;&#xA;When it comes to race-baiting, the far-right is just as guilty as the far-left but that&#x27;s how both sides keep their respective "base" in line.
