It represents the spirit of our country. Men and women have died protecting it and the idea for which it stands. It is held as a beacon of hope in hopeless lands and is held high with a tear in the eye when those who understand its meaning embrace it. It is our flag.
But that great symbol of freedom and liberty and justice and opportunity can also be used as tool of opinion when in the hands of the less enlightened and jaded. It’s handling can also say quite a bit about those doing the handling. At a recent event in Pittsburgh – under the guise of “safety” – the Clinton campaign confiscated peoples’ American flags, leaving them in a pile on the floor.

In the handling of the American flag, it is never – ever – to touch the floor. So, the campaign of the woman who would like to assume the greatest office in the land, issued a tacit statement that they believe America belongs in the gutter.
The idea of respect for the flag is not one of opinion. In fact, the proper handling and treatment of the American flag is codified into law and supplemented by presidential executive orders and proclamations.
The laws relating to the American flag – of the flag of the United States of America – are found in full in the United States Code. Title 4, Chapter 1 pertains to the flag; Title 18, Chapter 33, Section 700 regards criminal penalties for flag desecration; Title 36, Chapter 3 pertains to patriotic customs and observances.
In the Clinton campaigns tossing of the American flag in a pile on the floor, several laws were, literally, broken:
United States Code Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8 reads, in part, “(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise; (e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way…”
So, what does the mishandling of the American flag say about the Clinton campaign? It illustrates that even if her supporters – or at least some of them – are patriotic Americans, the campaign – and, therefore the candidate – doesn’t care. It’s not about duty, honor and country, for the Clinton team it is about power and influence.
Ever since the injection of Progressivism into the American psyche there has been a contingent of America-hating malcontents who seek to make the United States the bane of the world. These are the flag burners and the street protesters who would see America at the feet of the Third World.
Hillary Clinton, by her own admission, is a Progressive. She is of the transformative ilk that would see our nation ripped from our Charters of Freedom and subjected to the altar of Progressive totalitarianism.
They say that you can tell how what kind of a husband a man will be in how he treats his mother. I put it to you, that we can all understand the Progressives and their hate for our country in how they treat the flag.
