It represents the spirit of our country. Men and women have died protecting it and the idea for which it stands. It is held as a beacon of hope in hopeless lands and is held high with a tear in the eye when those who understand its meaning embrace it. It is our flag.
But that great symbol of freedom and liberty and justice and opportunity can also be used as tool of opinion when in the hands of the less enlightened and jaded. It’s handling can also say quite a bit about those doing the handling. At a recent event in Pittsburgh – under the guise of “safety” – the Clinton campaign confiscated peoples’ American flags, leaving them in a pile on the floor.
