As usual though, while BOTH major parties  DO share some fault for the ignorant perception of some: "destroying our country" - the truth of the matter is the right is more at fault for that misperception than the left, over the past 20 years or so.

The left have had 2 very positive admins of economic growth after being forced to inherit EPIC DISASTERS from the republicans; and of course the two GOP admins both ended in monumental DISASTERS of EPIC proportions - which even republicans admit to!

The right to have votes counted in fair elections is at the core of democracy.  But Trump and far right extremists are working to undermine that right.  They do and say anything to gain power.  Even encouraging political violence.  Trump is the first president in history to obstruct the peaceful and legitimate transfer of power.  That is fascism.
