Obama Budgeted $17,613 for Every Central American Illegal Minor
President Obama’s budget plan allocates more money to the teens
illegally entering the United States from Central America than it does
to American citizens who currently receive Social Security.
A recent report by the Center for Immigration Studies revealed that
Obama made room in the budget — $17,613, to be precise — for each of the
estimated 75,000 minorities from Central America anticipated to cross
the border this year. That’s nearly $3,000 more than the average annual
Social Security retirement benefit, which averages $14,772 per
recipient, according to the Washington Examiner.
American taxpayers will pay a total of $1.3 billion for Central
American children illegally entering the country. That’s “more than
double what the federal government spent in 2010, according to an
analysis of the administration’s programs for illegal minors from the
Center for Immigration Studies,” reported the Washington Examiner.
The administration is also spending a lot of money on a program that,
in coordination with the United Nations, helps hundreds of thousands of
illegal minors enter the U.S. “by declaring them refugees and handing
them a plane ticket to the U.S. where, once here, they get special legal
status,” according to the Washington Examiner.
“The constant flows of unaccompanied minors from Central America
illegally crossing the border from Mexico to the United States have been
met with rather welcoming measures by this administration. After trying
to fit them under the trafficking umbrella, the U.S. government opted
to treat these children as potential refugees,” states the Center for
Immigration Studies.
