So the Washington Post puts out an article — “Traffic deaths increased during the pandemic. The toll fell more heavily on Black residents” — and they go on to blame institutional racism.

“We’ve all been socialized, in a way, to believe that Black death is due to Black behavior when instead we know infrastructure influences behavior,” said Brown, who is the founder of planning firm Equitable Cities. “If that is true, we need investments in quality infrastructure in Black communities. How many more Black people do we have to lose before that is the number one priority?”

"Under the Biden administration, the Transportation Department has made promoting racial equity a top priority."

“Last year’s traffic fatality rates and the racial disparities reflected in them are unacceptable,” Buttigieg said in a statement.

Do you think anyone asked this question? ARE BLACK PEOPLE SPEEDING MORE? ARE PEOPLE SPEEDING MORE IN AREAS THAT ARE DISPROPORTIONATELY BLACK?

No. Of course not. Why would anyone ask the question that could actually help limit the number of black deaths.

You could then set up a speed trap. And over time people stop speeding in that area. This would save lives.

Democrats don’t want this answer. So they go out of their way to come up with absurd reasoning.

You can analyze traffic deaths on the basis of race. But you're not allowed to analyze traffic behavior on the basis of race.

This is how stupid Democrats are.

Ok. This has got to be wrong if systematic racism is responsible for car accidents?

That isn't eventing the wheel it saying a wheel is really a flat tire it just needs the degradation of the conditions of the road?

If blacks were not in as many accidents per capita the left would be stating systemic racism is keeping black men from acquiring cars....

Because this is the spin of what butthurt said according to NBC news.

Black people tend to be overrepresented as walkers in this country,” Garrick said. “This is not by choice. In many cases, Black folks cannot afford motor vehicles. And people that walk in this country tend to experience a much, much higher rate of traffic fatality. We’re talking eight to 10 times more. It’s a perfect storm of a lot of horrible forces.”

States Norman Garrick, a civil and environmental engineering professor at the University of Connecticut, said the numbers are saddening, but not surprising.

A new study released Tuesday by the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) highlights the disparities. It analyzed data from 2015 to 2019 and found that in different types of traffic crashes, Black people were killed at higher rates than White people. Black pedestrians were killed at a rate twice as high.

They’re being killed driving cars. And Democrats are blaming it on racist infrastructure.

The comprehension level around here isn’t the best.

My better half is from the Baltimore area. Grew up off Bel Air (Blair) Rd. Any time of day there are “folks” walking or loitering in the middle of this busy street. Seen it myself on trips back there with the family. The locals call them city deer an_roll_laugh

Remember during the Clinton administration NJ state troopers were called racists for pulling over black people at a disproportionate rate. It was so bad Clintons DOJ did an investigation and a study. The investigation found that black people were disproportionately speeding and were actually being stopped less than they should have been.
