North Korean leaders said they see little reason to maintain ties with President Trump two years after the leaders’ first summit in Singapore.
Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon said in a statement run by state media Friday that since the summit the hostile relationship between the two countries is “unchanged, but the situation of the Korean peninsula is getting worse.”
Just the first two paragraphs gives you the drift of the full article. Concerns about North Korea and Kim are pretty much ignored in our present state of affairs, but they still remain, and in some foreign relation areas there is no such thing a "back burner" to move things to. The pressures of the presidency are pretty much what you bargain for when you run, all of them.
I guess we can pretty much write off the love letter thing, huh?
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

The ball is in Kim's court to do the right thing , but he won't because he is in love with his power & control over his own people, just like any dictator. Trump has given roley poley every opportunity to join the international community, even writing love letters (Lol), and making clear the U.S. has no plans to annihilate them. The cards have been laid out for all to see. The only ones who don't see it are the people of N.K. No connection to the outside world. They will believe their leader's propaganda because that is all they have access to.
Kim and N.K. always wants concessions to game the system during negotiations. But Trump knows better, and won't play their game in softening sanctions. (Every one knows the definition of insanity, right ??). So, of course N.K. is pissed and sees no reason to retain ties to the U.S... Is this "News?"
I'm sorry.. What again was the point of this thread ?

Well Rush, the point may be that Donny looks like a dipshit with the "love letter" angle when he has no more intention of getting tough with N.K. than he blames his predecessors for. No one gets anywhere with Kim, that is a given, but playing tough guy and then backing off is not impressive, which in this case makes all his predecessors look brighter. No surprise there. Kim is as happy and confident as any school yard skinny kid after chasing the bully back home.
Fire and fury,........... yeah, right

Ask yourself, what exactly is supposed to be the next step ?? Fire weapons? Start a war ?
And what exactly do you mean by playing tough guy and then backing off ? Examples please...
Trump is doing the right thing by trying to squeeze his head w maximum sanctions, though China and Russia help them circumnavigate sanctions.
So, I ask again, what is the next step with N.K. ? As long as they are not threatening us or their neighbors , they can continue to rot away... they are not worth a broader conflict.
