"What team am I on? I have an answer!
Newspapers have spent weeks now listing “high powered” Democrats who might be considered to be Joe Biden’s replacement via a voterless “blitz primary”process. I can tell you I’m not voting for anyone emerging from that insider group. Why? Because that person will represent things I can’t support: canceled primaries, secret “nominating events,” arbitrary removal of challengers from ballots, etc.
I used to support Bernie Sanders; but he’s not going to be considered for any “blitz primary,” because party insiders apparently don’t consider him a legitimate or “viable” Democrat (while candidates Sanders stomped in primaries, like Amy Klobuchar and Cory Booker, are being considered). Marianne Williamson, removed from the ballot by the DNC in states like Florida and North Carolina, is another candidate I like who’s been effectively banished for having the gall to oppose the incumbent in this cycle. I liked Tulsi Gabbard, too, but the party slandered her as a “Russian asset” and effectively expelled her, on the basis of phony research ginned up by the Hamilton 68 think tank we exposed in the Twitter Files. I think RFK, Cornel West (whom I like a lot, as you’d know if you read my profile), Jill Stein, and even the No Labels people are interesting. The huge amounts of time, money, and effort being spent by Democrats to try to keep them all off the ballot through litigation are incomprehensible and infuriating.
It really annoys me that simply being against the efforts to censor or deny ballot access to alternative candidates —including Trump — gets me labeled “right wing.” Am I annoyed enough to actually vote Republican? I didn’t in 2016 or 2020, but since then Democrats threatened to put me in jail, essentially for doing a story about digital censorship. So while I may not be on Team Red, I’m definitely on Team Fuck You. It’s just a question of how enthusiastic I’ll feel about my membership in November.

In what article does this originate? The irony. I was literallt about to reference Matt Taibbi's book, Hate Inc., in another thread. Matt became, arguably my favorite living journalist (with the death of Hunter S. Thompson) when he was at Rolling Stone (and following Hunter's footsteps). He practically explained the 2008 financial crisis to me. Hate Inc. is a good and relevant read. Definitely worth picking up. It's not a "peer reviewed journal" but it's informative none the less. And at it's core, that is what journalism should be. Informative.
