These numbers are going to be tough to turn around:

Just a third of Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction; less than four in 10 approve of Obama’s handling of the U.S. economy; and nearly 70 percent think the economy will get worse or stay the same in the next year.

the misery index is high these days. who makes anything anymore? who is getting a good job from the want ads or monster? all i get is sad stories these days from so many.

this garbage is only partly the presidents fault but i firmly believe fiscal conservancy is the new mantra from people after the coke binge from 97-07. with that being the newer belief system, anyone perceived as non attentive to the issue will poll lower. the president comes off as acknowledging the issue yet still wanting to spend his way out of it.

the gop , alternatively wants to sucker us in to letting the fortune 500 and forbes 500 benevolently restore order once their promethian shackles are lifted.

just made the word promethian up(of and pertaining to promethius), if i was W, that shit would be in wikipedia right now.

drJ,while I&#x27;m not real big on conspiracy theories, I am really starting to believe that there is some sort of market manipulation taking place with the stock market. On top of that, America seems to have adopted the unsustainable policies of:1. Everyone should go to college (to be a "manager" I guess)2. Stop building things, outsource for cheap consumer items.3. Build up a consumer/service based economy (Yeah, we can all be managers at the dry cleaners!)I don&#x27;t care which party nominates a politician who will:1. Reduce corporate taxes, regulation2. Reduce environmental regulation3. Encourage real domestic energy production -drilling for oil, new nuclear plants, etc.4. Yes, do some union busting. There is a reason Toyota has big factories down south and Chevy has them in Mexico.I&#x27;d vote for someone running on that platform.

[/Quote]some of this may well be this administrations fault.  you may be being comical or you may be serious .  i do know that the biggest reason for sitting on capital or using it to acquire compnaies instead of investing in our country is uncertainty about taxes and health care laws in the future.  i also know that a 2 trillion business injection/investment would be huge for our country.

&#xD;&#xA;Agreed...you can lay some blame on the admin....business certainly doesn&#x27;t like uncertainty and there is heaps of that with health care and tax questions hanging in the air.&#xD;&#xA;I also know that if you do not water the roots, the plant will never bear fruit.  Sounds like something Chauncey Gardner would say.&#xD;&#xA;And if having jobs corresponds to a healthy root system, turn on the irrigation water that is being held behind that corporate dam. Businesses and the US in general will all benefit from the fruit produced.

Obama&#x27;s fault.Yes, because we see you rushing to defend President Bush from blame when Obama and other Democrats blame the former President for the state of the economy.In addition, it is Obama&#x27;s fault because of the policies he has enacted and continues to talk about enacting.
