Pat Toomey is either ..............

….an idiot or typically pro-Trump republican deceiver. His loyalty, if not his brains or honesty, is admirable.

Quoted from the Washington Examiner and available online;

“None of it has changed my fundamental view on this,” Toomey told the Philadelphia Inquirer, referring to recent developments on Ukraine. “I think there needs to be a very high bar for removing a president from office. It has never happened in the history of the republic, and I think this president has made errors of judgment and he has said and done things that I don’t agree with, but I have yet to see something in my mind as a high crime or misdemeanor that warrants overturning the results of the last election.”

What he does not want recognized of course is that impeachment and conviction would do nothing of the sort. “OVERTURNING” the results of the last election would mean putting Hillary Clinton and Tim Kane in office. NO such thing would happen. Mike Pence would assume the office of president, with a new vice president to be determined, obviously another conservative Republican acceptable to Pence and the Republican Party.

Far from “overturning” the results of the last election, impeachment and conviction would give the obvious nominee, Pence, and his hand-picked vice president, a launching pad toward the 2020 nomination and run for election. That may well work to the advantage of the Republican Party, not its disadvantage. There would be no Trump baggage to carry forward.

I don’t really care about Pat Toomey or the results of an impeachment process (at this point); but I do think Republicans, and especially Pennsylvania Republicans should be concerned about the accuracy and honesty of what their senators are saying, and attempting to get the electorate to believe.

Slim, for God's sake if you can't follow a topic, stop typing. The topic was Pat Toomey and his apparent ignorance/stupidity/dishonesty and what voters, especially Pennsylvania voters, should make of it. As for Nancy Pelosi; I never said a word regarding her or a series of events that would put her in the presidency. Another of your great defects as a poster is that you take any criticism of any Republican to be an endorsement of Hillary, Nancy, Chuck or whatever Democrat is available.

Some people, Slim, have the ability to assess the quotes and actions of politicians from a non-partisan viewpoint. Some people are not committed to voting a straight party ticket every single time they vote. Some people are not so simple minded. That would seem to be an impossible leap for your mind to make.
