….an idiot or typically pro-Trump republican deceiver. His loyalty, if not his brains or honesty, is admirable.
Quoted from the Washington Examiner and available online;
“None of it has changed my fundamental view on this,” Toomey told the Philadelphia Inquirer, referring to recent developments on Ukraine. “I think there needs to be a very high bar for removing a president from office. It has never happened in the history of the republic, and I think this president has made errors of judgment and he has said and done things that I don’t agree with, but I have yet to see something in my mind as a high crime or misdemeanor that warrants overturning the results of the last election.”
What he does not want recognized of course is that impeachment and conviction would do nothing of the sort. “OVERTURNING” the results of the last election would mean putting Hillary Clinton and Tim Kane in office. NO such thing would happen. Mike Pence would assume the office of president, with a new vice president to be determined, obviously another conservative Republican acceptable to Pence and the Republican Party.
Far from “overturning” the results of the last election, impeachment and conviction would give the obvious nominee, Pence, and his hand-picked vice president, a launching pad toward the 2020 nomination and run for election. That may well work to the advantage of the Republican Party, not its disadvantage. There would be no Trump baggage to carry forward.
I don’t really care about Pat Toomey or the results of an impeachment process (at this point); but I do think Republicans, and especially Pennsylvania Republicans should be concerned about the accuracy and honesty of what their senators are saying, and attempting to get the electorate to believe.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

One problem I see could happening in your scenario...if,President Trump were to get impeached ...making VP Mike Pence the President and before he could select a new VP he is assassinated by say some crazed antifa person ....that would make the President of the United States Nancy Pelosi.....
For that reason alone the Nation can not let President Trump be impeached..

Atta boy SLIM. Raise the banners and cheer for Donald. Never, never, never stay on topic.
Part of the topic was included in your first post .......and contained a hypothetical course of events the same as I did :
"OVERTURNING” the results of the last election would mean putting Hillary Clinton and Tim Kane in office. NO
such thing would happen. Mike Pence would assume the office of

By the way....KEY ELEMENT I'm sorry if I said something negative about Pelosi that seams to have up-set you so much.....no hard feelings ....

Slim, for God's sake if you can't follow a topic, stop typing. The topic was Pat Toomey and his apparent ignorance/stupidity/dishonesty and what voters, especially Pennsylvania voters, should make of it. As for Nancy Pelosi; I never said a word regarding her or a series of events that would put her in the presidency. Another of your great defects as a poster is that you take any criticism of any Republican to be an endorsement of Hillary, Nancy, Chuck or whatever Democrat is available.
Some people, Slim, have the ability to assess the quotes and actions of politicians from a non-partisan viewpoint. Some people are not committed to voting a straight party ticket every single time they vote. Some people are not so simple minded. That would seem to be an impossible leap for your mind to make.

Key Element,,this is from an article in Business Insider..
While the constitution lays out a mechanism to remove a president from office ,it doesn't prevent a president removed from their office by the impeachment process from running for office or being elected to a federal office again..
President Trump could theoretical;ly run for office and be re-elected after a conviction in the Senate..
According toa 2015 Congressional Research Service report, being convicted and removed from office doesn't automatically lead to the "disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor." After convicting a federal officer, the Senate must separately vote by simple majority to prevent them from holding a federal office in the future.
So,by this report ,,,if Vice President Mike Pence..became president, after President Trump was removed from office and he than stepped aside not running for the Republican presidential nomination..or loses to Donald Trump in the primary. President Trump has a theoretical route to be sworn in as president again in 2021 even if the Senate does remove him from office. ...

This bill has passed the Senate this week and now awaits the signature
of President Donald Trump....
I'am against animal abuse of any kind and support animal-protection ... and strong animal cruelty laws and penalties..Sen Toomey is a good man..and I agree with him .....there needs to be a very high bar for removing a president from office.
