Ok all you covid geniuses explain this. We have heard about how with all these spiking cases we couldn't open states for nearly a year and that conservatives were idiots for fighting it. So in NC our Democratic governor has asked the schools to reopen. Now the reason we were closed was cases spiking, well in NC we have averaged 6,312 and just yesterday a slim 10,693 new cases yesterday. So explain that. You know Conservatives will say it's because there is no reason to keep the states closed because the election is over and that was the whole point. So let's hear why it's ok with the vaccine not widely available, that it's ok to reopen schools with cases still out of control.

Wearing a mask, social distancing, practicing proper hygiene all help preventing the spread of the virus. Hopefully we can agree on that point.
The previous administration never had a plan & now we are starting to see a semblance of responsible people in the necessary positions to develop a distribution plan nationwide. What you may have experienced in NC & across the country is the residual collateral damage of the holiday gatherings that took place. Many have lost loved ones & few if any still believe this virus is a hoax. For those who still believe this is a hoax, we are better off with these idiots culled from society IMO.
The vaccine is becoming more available. More medical centers & other facilities are being utilized where thousands not hundreds can receive the vaccine. Local pharmacies are becoming more involved as well. We are starting to see progress & we are being informed with daily status updates.
As far as the schools, our kids have lost a full year of education & before we reopen society for business, our schools need to reopen with all the necessary precautions in place to protect what is the future of our country.
Personally, my grandchildren will continue with remote learning until WE deem it safe for them to return to the school facility but I realize not everyone has that option. My hope is that by the end of February they will be able to return to school & participate in all the great activities that school provides.
So I've taken my shot at your question. I'm not looking to get into any long arguments on the subject & am simply answering your question.

The only reason that Trump lost was his failure in stopping covid. The economy collapsed. Now we are effectively accelerating vaccine distributions to we have 12 times the number getting the cure than getting sick.
This week we given more 5 times the doses of vaccine than Trump did in ten weeks.
Then the infection survival rates those that recieve the vaccine and are infected with a mutation of covid are 100 times more likely to survive than those without the vaccine.
All of this stated. Not many over 65 year olds are still in high school even in North Carolina there really are not that many...
That is where the deaths count occurs.
