Anyone who thinks Gaetz is actually Mr. Trump's legit pick for Attorney General is not thinking as clearly or playing the kind of chess that our future President is. The entire point is to remove Gaetz from the house, drain the swamp. Brilliant maneuver.
Makes zero sense for a man adjudicated as a sexual abuser to seriously nominate another man who's been credibly accused of similar offenses to lead the Dept. of Justice.
After all, one can’t argue Gaetz faced a weaponized DOJ. The investigation was started by Trump’s DOJ under Barr and he faced ethics violations by a Republican controlled House. Mr. Trump will ultimately nominate someone who commands respect. There must be thousands of better loyal choices, and he knows it.
He has a plan.
