Temperatures Continue to Fall in the United States ..not just in the United States ......The Grand Match ( curling tournament )has only been held three times since 1945 because temperatures have been too high for thick ice to form on Scotland's lochs.
But after the prolonged cold spell, organisers met today to discuss the possibility of the event going ahead next week. The competition was first held in 1837 and traditionally pitches the north and south of Scotland against each other.
More than two weeks of freezing weather across the country has raised hopes that the minimum 7in of ice needed for the game to go ahead will form on the Lake of Menteith...

Australia has always been a land of odd things. Odd things that really don't fit anywhere else, like wobats and platypuses.. ( a cross between a duck,otter and a beaver )
