Employment in manufacturing in the United States has increased by 189,000 in the year since November 8th 016 according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At the same time, employment in the federal government has declined by 3,000 since November 8th 2016..

The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits  fell last week,...Initial claims for state unemployment benefits slipped 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 236,000 for the week ended Dec. 2, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Data for the prior week was unrevised. It was the third straight weekly decline in claims..

The labor market is near full employment, with the jobless rate at a 17-year low of 4.1 percent...

Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 228,000 in November...

In November, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by 5 cents to $26.55. Over the year, average hourly earnings have risen by 64 cents, or 2.5 percent.

Employment in professional and business services continued on an upward trend in November (+46,000). Over the past 12 months, the industry has added 548,000 jobs.

.. .and lastly Thank You,Barack Obama.. the November jobs report, shows that the U.S. has added 1.7 million total jobs since November 8th 2016 .. The median jobs growth of 208,000 per month is the strongest for a president since Bill Clinton was in office.
