This should be no surprise. The South used to be solidly Democratic until LBJ began pushing for civil rights and Lee Atwater formulated his "Southern Strategy." Democratic hatemongers like Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, David Duke and Tom Metzger all left the party and became Republicans, and millions of white Southerners joined them.
Only one Republican supports a House resolution to honor Muhammad Ali:

Only one Republican supports a House resolution to honor Muhammad Ali:
I think the Muslim hatred is more of a 21st century surrender your money, rights and common sense to fight the axis of evil.
Ali's choices to be a minority, outspoken, independent thinker is what strike complete fear and panic into the hearts of racists resulting in such hatred and bigotry. It's not just Ali but how he inspires so many regardless of race.

Hard to say why GOPs are so against American hero Muhammad Ali....
Why so unamerican?
“All person and gentiles are devils….Blacks are no devils….Everything black people doing wrong comes from (the white people—drinking, smoking, prostitution, homosexuality, stealing, gambling—it all comes from (the white people).” - Muhammad Ali
“A black man should be killed if he’s messing with a white woman. And white men have always done that….And not just white men—black men, too. We will kill you, and the brothers who don’t kill you will get their behinds whipped and probably get killed themselves if they let it happen and don’t do nothin’ about it.” - Muhammad Ali
“In my name and the name of all Muslims in America, I declare support for the Palestinian struggle to liberate their homeland and oust the Zionist invaders” - Muhammad Ali
“Integration is wrong. The white people don’t want integration. I don’t believe in forcing it….” - Muhammad Ali
“My enemies are white people, not Viet Congs or Chinese or Japanese.” - Muhammad Ali
Here's the views of your anti-American hero DL36.

He was an bigot and racial separatist and not shy about saying it ....
In 1975, amid the frenzy over the impending “Thrilla in Manila,” Ali argued vehemently in a Playboy
interview that interracial couples ought to be lynched.
“A black man
should be killed if he’s messing with a white woman,” he said. And it
was the same for a white man making a pass at a black woman. “We’ll kill
anybody who tries to mess around with our women.
” But suppose the black
woman wanted to be with the white man, the interviewer asked. “Then she dies,” Ali answered. “Kill her too.”
Great American hero.........so American ....

It's funny how you completely miss the point because you're all emotionally invested in your racial issues. Ali dies and these jackals come rushing in to desecrate him trying so hard to be right... But failing...
Ali embodied free speech and voicing his views and opinions regardless if it was being a good minority or going beyond race, popular or agreeable.
So while I do not agree with all of his views and opinions (and as a non-partisan independent I honestly don't blindly agree or disagree with anyone), Ali was the opposite of Political correctness and offered an honesty in his freedom of expression. This I what made him a great American,
It's ironic that an honest and free speaking guy that tells it to you straight and may have opinions that people strongly disagree with because he is not shackled by political correctness is something these trump supporters so emotionally against.
But I guess that's emotional trump supporters who are obsessed with racial issues for ya...
So while like Ali, I respect trump as an American exercising his first Ammendment rather than being a politician the same way Ali did. But I would also say that neither Ali nor trump should or qualified to be president of the United States just because they fearlessly transcend political correctness and exercise their free speech to motivate, appeal to and challenge the conciousness of the masses.
So why would you guys be so against some one like trump?
Oh oh the irony
