Economist democracy index rates US as a failing democracy. Democratic backsliding is largely a republican phenomenon. State democracy index found republican states tend to be more undemocratic. Also cost of democracy index found voting tends to be harder in republican states. Despite no proof of stolen 2020 election, republican states implement many laws to make voting harder. Despite courts ruling that voting suppression is a far greater problem than very rare voting fraud. Voting suppression discourages eligible voters and is associated with authoritarianism.
So are you saying black people don't have the capability to obtain proper identification? Is that not a racist statement in and of itself? I'm black. I have had state identification since I was an adolescent. I have had the REAL ID for a year.
As far as gerrymandering, it's a real thing, but it also goes both ways.
