When thinking about NAFTA ... I always thought it was more of a republican idea than a democrat one. I mean essentially it eliminates the red tape, taxes and promotes free flow of trade between U.S., Canada and Mexico. When I researched it a bit ... I came to find out it was a George W H Bush idea originally ... he signed the trade pact with the respective nations December, 1992 and Clinton signed it into law that following year. Anyways, now that Trump will dismantle it ... I can see how this would bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. while screwing the big corporations by increasing their cost of labor. I can see the logic in this in terms of creating new (or the old jobs) here in the U.S. The net effect of the GDP is yet to be determined. I'm willing to give this a go actually ... but I'm wondering why more republicans are not against this type of move. This will increase their cost of doing business in the long run as they cannot take advantage of cheap labor. I personally am tired of the big companies exploiting cheap labor but these companies may not be competitive ... price wise in the long run which could hurt revenues. And you know what happens when revenues drop for a company. Any thoughts on this? Wallstreet you wanna chime in?

According to wikipedia, chamber of commerce and 95% of economists agreed that NAFTA benefited US economy by increasing trade of American goods and services. If NAFTA is gone, there may be less economic growth and higher prices.
