An intelligent person who is intellectually inquisitive and broad-minded will read a lot to expand his world view and obtain heretofore unknown information.
A narrow-minded egotistical know-nothing with shun reading and wallow in ignorance, secure in the false impression that his closed mind already knows everything. That enables such a lamebrain to cling to delusions and merrily proceed to make the wrong decisions.
That sounds EXACTLY like Babushka who didn't like to read and, as he openly admitted, liked to go with his gut. That got us into Iraq and despite a quarter million Iraqi deaths and more American deaths than 9/11, he never apologized. He wallowed in ignorance and there was a drastic price to pay for the search for imaginary WMD's.
