Voting fraud is very rare. During 2002 to 2006, George Bush ordered a federal investigation which led to only 86 convictions of voter fraud out of over 200 million ballots.

However suppression from voting ID laws are not a myth as determined by law courts in various States. Actually more important for Justice department to defend the right to vote according to Brennan center for justice.
