As i see it, the Bolts blew a golden opportunity to catch up in the the standings to the Chiefs. As has been the case in the last couple of years, when the Chargers have tryed to overlook the Raiders, they get bitten on their behinds! While the Chiefs have vastly improved over seasons past, I can't seriously believe the Chargers are not going to win and cover in this spot. Or else they fall 3 games behind with 3 to play! I expect Rivers and company to make a "clutch" effort in this spot! Don't see KC getting the job done this week!

With a win KC could (almost) punch their ticket to the playoffs and without a win SD is out. Should make a hell of a game right
Obviously SD disappointed last week while KC barely pulled out a win against the woeful Broncos at home.
SD needs a perfect game on offense, defense and special teams to beat KC by more than 7 points since KC can both run and pass and play defense. KC will put up enough points and with seven in the bank play KC

Just an FYI.

The Kansas City Chiefs look to all but end the meaningful portion of the San Diego Chargers season as they visit San Diego.
The San Diego Chargers have had a tough go of it this season and after getting pasted last weekend against the Raiders, it sets up every game from here on in as a must win situation. Since they already lost the Kansas City in week one and after this one there will only be three games left, San Diego would be eliminated for the hunt for the AFC West title as they would be mathematically eliminated. Phillip Rivers has been trying to will the Chargers to win but it hasn't happened for them as after winning four in a row to get back into things, last weeks loss puts them back to the brink of elimination. For the season Rivers has completed 65.5 percent of his passes with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Mike Tolbert has gained 625 yards and scored nine touchdowns as he's just tough to bring down. The Chargers receiving corps have been riddled with injuries and Patrick Crayton and Legendu Naanee are both doubtful while Antonio Gates is questionable. gates leads the Chargers in receiving with 50 catches for 782 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively Kevin Burnett has 74 tackles to lead San Diego to go with his five sacks while Eric Weddle has 66 tackles. Shaun Phillips has 10 sacks and Antonio Garay has four as they have 34 as a team. Antoine Cason has four interceptions and Kevin Burnett has two as it's been a team effort snatching the 13 team interceptions. San Diego is averaging 26.9 points and 397.4 yards while the defense is allowing 21.1 points and 281.4 yards per game.
The Kansas City Chiefs are all alone and two games clear atop the AFC West and with a win in this one they can get themselves much closer to making the playoffs after being one of the worst teams over the past several years. Matt Cassel has quietly become one of he most efficient QB's around as he has completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 2,503 yards and impressively throwing 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions. Jamal Charles has rushed for 1,137 yards while Thomas Jones has 765 yards and five touchdowns. Dwayne Bowe has 58 catches for 885 yards and 14 touchdowns and Tony Meoki has a dependable 36 catches for 438 yards and three touchdowns. Derrick Johnson has 90 tackles and a sack and Eric Berry has 69 tackles and two sacks. Tamba Hali has 10 sacks and Wallace Gilberry has four. Berry has two interceptions as does Brandon Flowers and Jon McGraw. Kansas City is averaging 24.6 points and 373.8 yards per game while the defense is allowing 19.8 points and 334.9 yards.
San Diego is 5-1 against the spread when playing a team with a winning record, 4-1 against the spread against AFC teams, and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games following a game which they didn't cover. Kansas City is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog, 4-1 against the spread in their last five as a road underdog, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five following a straight up win. San Diego has won five of the last seven home games against Kansas City.
This should be a good one as the stakes are high and while the trends favor the Chargers, they put together those trends while they were up and the Chiefs were down. These two played in week one in Kansas City and it was special teams that made all the difference in the world for KC. While I don't know if they have what it takes to win in this spot, Kansas City should keep it close.
