Time for the greatest contest in all of Covers to kick off its 5th year.
I will be sending out PMs to all that participated last year...but here is the introductory thread with all of the rules and regulations. Most of it is going to be kept the same as last year, but as always, if there is any suggestions I would love to hear them!!

Yup...it's that time of year once again!
1. The contest will run from the Sony Open to the Wyndham Championship. 32 weeks.
2. Each contestant will select TWO golfers per week. Once you select a golfer, you cannot use him for the remainder of the season. You MUST list each of your selected golfers each week...I don't have the time or patience to go through 32 weeks of used golfers for 20-30 contestants. It's called cut and paste...and if JOHNNY_ODAE can figure it out...so can you.
3. You will receive the score of each of your selected golfers for that week. If a selected golfer misses the cut, withdraws, makes cut doesn't finish, or is disqualified, you will receive 5 strokes WORSE than the lowest finishing golfer for the tournament. For example, if John Daly is in last place at the Sony Open after the 4th round and his score is +10...and you picked someone who missed the cut, your score for that golfer is +15. If a golfer withdraws prior to the tournament, you may select anyone WHO HAS NOT YET TEED OFF. There is no exceptions to this rule.
4. The 4 major championships (Masters, US Open, British Open, and PGA Championships) as well as the 3 World Golf Championship events (Cadillac, Match Play, Bridgestone) and the PLAYERS Championship will be double points weeks. As the veterans can tell you, these are critical to the final season standings.
5. The 4 major championships will also have a 3rd round bonus. As in past years, you will select a 3rd golfer for those weeks. This golfer can be someone you pick for the week, or someone you have already used. If that golfer shoots the lowest score in the 3rd Round, you will receive a -5 for the week. Nobody has hit the 3rd round bonus that I can remember.
6. If you pick the winner of the tournament..you will receive a -10 bonus. Last year there was some confusion as to what happens when picking the winner of a double points week (whether the -10 is applied before or after the double points)...this year, if you pick the winner of a double points week the bonus will be applied after double points are added. For example, Jordan Speith wins the Masters with a -12 score. Anyone that selected him would receive a -34 for the week. -12 x 2 = -24 -24 + -10 = -34
7. I make mistakes. Don't be a dink about it. Just point it out..I'll check the math, and we will figure it out. It's a pain in the nuts most weeks to keep track of everyone's picks and the scores and everything else. It's about two hours of extra work each week that I put it...and I love it. Let's all work together.
8. If you pick a player that you have already used...I will try and remind you before the tournament starts. If you do not realize it and the tournament starts before you can change your pick...you will get the same score as the MC/DQ/MDF/WD

I'm thinking of keeping the same format that we had last year.
The top 8 or 16 (depending on the amount of guys that make it the whole year) will make the playoffs and be seeded #1 thru #16 based on the regular season scores.
#1 will start at EVEN for the playoffs, and each subsequent seed will start 2 strokes worse than the last person
It will be a head to head matchup and you will select one player to receive double points.
You will PM me your picks so that it is not known all over.

I post a thread every single week with the golfers who are entered in the tournament...you post any used golfers and who you want to pick for that tourney.
That's it.

Also...if you miss too many weeks, I will kick you out of the contest. Even though I love to see participants, it's a year long type of commitment, and I don't want to have to keep score for guys that aren't going to be in on a weekly basis. I understand that it's tough to make it every single week...but if you miss more than 5 you will be eliminated.
