2-2 at the Memorial last week, but won the 2u play again, so profited 1.48 units. Now 46-40-3 (+9.65u) for the 2019/20 season.
3M Open 72-Hole Tournament Matchups
Scott Stallings (-122) over Alex Noren - 2 Units
- Cashed Stallings on a big play over Kokrak 2 weeks ago and will ride him again here over Noren. Stallings has made the cut in all 4 of his starts since returning to action - always nice to have a guy playing the weekend in H2H matchups. Noren, on the other hand, has really struggled in his last 2 starts, missing the cut at the Rocket Mortgage and the Memorial with negative strokes gained across all categories. Small bit of juice to lay, but Stallings is a deserved favorite here.
Adam Schenk (-101) over Matthias Schwab - 1 Unit
- Schenk had back to back decent showings at the Rocket Mortgage and Workday Charity Open, finishing 30th and 39th before taking last week off. Schwab's first start in the US since the tour resumed play was a battle at the Memorial, missing the cut at +9. This course will be playing much easier this week, but it may take Schwab a bit to find it while Schenk has at least shown he's trending in the right direction. Worth a play at a pick'em price.
Sam Ryder (+120) over Max Homa - 1 Unit
- Not quite sure why Homa is such a large favorite, as he has not been very impressive since the return. He's missed 4 of 5 cuts and has really struggled with the putter, posting negative SG with the flat stick in all 5 events. Ryder comes in off a 7th place finish at the Workday Charity Open and had a respectable showing in the inaugural 3M Open last year, ending up 34th. Great value on him at these odds.
Kristoffer Ventura (+142) over Charles Howell III - 0.5 Units
- Small play on Ventura who flies under the radar here but is playing solid golf. Has 2 top 10's on the Korn Ferry Tour and finished 21st at the Rocket Mortgage. Howell has not shown anything to indicate he'll be in contention this week with 2 missed cuts and a 49th and 48th in 4 starts since the reboot. He's had negative strokes gained T2G in 3 of those 4 starts. He's favored based on the name and not current form, so definitely worth a sprinkle on Ventura to pull the upset.
