Finally have some golf to bet on! Bit of a guessing game this week with the 3-month hiatus so mostly going with course history.
72-Hole Tournament Matchups:
Brooks Koepka (+108) over Bryson DeChambeau - 1 Unit
- Brooks finished 2nd in his lone appearance at Colonial in 2018, where he averaged an absurd +4.01 true strokes gained over the 4 rounds. One of the toughest par 70's on Tour, Colonial is definitely a ball strikers track and suits Kopeka well. The layoff may have killed Bryson's momentum, as he was as hot as anyone early in the season. However, his 4 starts here have produced 3 missed cuts and a 42nd. I like Brooks at plus money.
Rory Sabbatini (+104) over Ryan Moore - 1 Unit
- Sabbatini has a pretty consistent track record at Colonial, with 2 top 10's and a top 20 in his last 4 starts. He's gained a stroke on average over the field in 52 career rounds here. Moore on the other hand has an average true strokes gained of -0.26 over 26 rounds. Again I'll take the underdog price on Sabbatini.
Joaquin Niemann (-127) over Ian Poulter - 1 Unit
- Niemann is very strong tee-to-green and has an 8th and 31st in his two starts at Colonial. Those 8 rounds has averaged +1.31 true strokes gained. Poulter outside of a 5th in 2015 has struggled here, with a negative true strokes gained across 22 rounds. I think Jaco is favored for a reason.
Best of luck!
