A few words about the Deutsche Bank...I attended the final round today.
First and foremost, because of the weather, it was very difficult logistically. Got the alert last night that tee times were being pushed up in hopes of beating the rain. The rain came earlier than expected, and the tee times were delayed by an hour and a half. Split tees made it really difficult to follow the action as TPC Boston is about as spread out as I've seen any course on the Tour. The 1st hole is out in the middle of nowhere...and 2 and 3 keep going out into the woods.
I followed Tiger from holes 1-4, nearly got hit in the head from his errant tee shot on 4, then skipped ahead to the leaders at 7 as I saw that Stenson was lighting it up. After two holes of watching the final two groups, the horn blew for the weather delay.
Went to the merchandise tent, and the beer tent, and then the beer tent, before a final return to the beer tent when play was announced it would resume at 4pm. After being involved in the game for so long and playing in/working tournaments, I knew where to hang out to get the most up to date information. Headed back out to catch the leaders start the back 9...watched them through the 12th hole, then moved over to the 15th green/16th tee which is back to back for a few groups.
Once I saw that Stenson had a 3 shot lead...I peaced out of there. No reason to stick around to watch no drama when you are already wet and tired. Overall, a fun event as usual to go to, just kind of a pain in the butt for the fans. Made Tiger chuckle when I commented to him on the 2nd hole that he needed to finish with 8 eagles to get into contention. His daughter was following along side and she is absolutely adorable, very well behaved as well.
Overall, I'll give the experience a 7.6 out of 10
