Chowrasia won this event 2 years in a row. In his 3rd appearance here before that he was 2nd!
This tourney has been dominated by Indian players. Course is very tricky and shorter accurate hitters are the way to go. Wood didn’t play this event the last 2 years. I think he finds trouble. Chowrasia lives it here

have to agree with SSP, sacker17. Euro Tour site lists him as their "Pick of Favorites" this week for the reasons you mentioned. he OWNS the DLF G&CC course
I chanced these this week
Shubhankar Sharma even over Anirban Lahiri. hopefully Sharma is not completely "bummed out" by his finish in Mexico. Lahiri was tied 5th here last year but his best finish this year a tied 26th @ Genesis
Joost Luiten -120 over Emilino Grillo. "The Flying Dutchman" this weeks Euro Tour "Form Horse". recent winner Oman Open and tied 11th Maybank, Grillo tied 8th Honda and tied 9th OHL BUT been a "bottom feeder" his other tourneys
Pablo Larrazabal -120 over Jeunghun Wang. Pablo seems to have found his game with tied 4th Qatar his last and tied 3rd Maybank. Wang a CUT @ Qatar and tied 62nd Maybank
Eric Van Rooyen -110 over Marcus Kinhult. two Euro Tour rookies both playing well with recent top finishes BUT I will chance Van Rooyen 10th his last @ Tshwane Open vs Kinhult a CUT
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK

I too was thinking Sharma but hate the fact that he travelled to Mexico and back. Could be burnt out a little. Lahiri is solid. No play there for me.
I like Van Rooyen and Luiten plays. Luitten did play in mexico last week though. Van Rooyen has been a moneymaker for me.
Pablo I'll stay away from. Too up and down and I think Wang may be finding his form.
Good luck.
Hope you are having good time in Vegas with Andy this week.
Ya enjoyed my meeting with him. super NICE guy. he said you and he going to the US Open @ Shinnecock Hills in June. sounds like FUN. you ever get to Las Vegas let me know
btw, The Golf Channel FINALLY sobered up and are broadcasting the tourney at a reasonable time this week. starts @ 9:30pm pacific time

Good God Grillo!!! shoots an opening 8 birdie 1 bogie [-7] for a two shot lead which is just UNREAL on this course. as tough a track as this is you can probably figure he WINS this thing. obviously his BEST since he WON @ Frye's two years ago. Joost Luiten with a [-1]
watching the early tee times, interesting threesome of Sharma, Suri and "Beef" Johnston. Sharma with a CRAZY round. shoots [+5] on his front side (the back nine) BUT comes back with a [-4] his last nine for a [+1]. "The Beef" with a nice [-2] round going BUT drowned his ball on his 18th to finish [even]. Suri with a horrid front side for him with just 2 birdies along with 4 bogies and a double to finish [+4]. sure glad I did NOT chance him this week vs Jeunghun Wang
WEIRD "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" round for Pablo Larrazabal. 9 birdies including 5 in a row his back side along with two bogies and a double for a tied for 2nd behind Grillo [-5] with Matteo Manassero and Paul Peterson
the Euro commentator Dougie Donnelly stated that "the DLF G&CC the 2nd hardest on the Euro Tour". from what I saw, I would sure like to see #1. you strike a bad shot on THIS course and you are just SCREWED
btw, a little bit of "useless bullsh!t". BOTH Shubhankar Sharma AND Anirban Lahiri's fathers are Indian Army Doctors

9 players yet to finish their 2nd round. none are in contention. looks like the CUT will be either [+3] or [+4] once they finish early Saturday
Emilino Grillo leads with a 2nd round [-4] for [-11] with a four shot lead over Shubhankar Sharma [-8] for [-7] 2nd and five over Pablo Larrazabal [-1] tied for 3rd with Andy "The Beef" Johnston [-6] both tourney [-6]
SSP shot probably his WORST competetive round EVER on his home course with a [+5] for [+7] CUT vs Wood [-3] for [+2]
my Van Rooyen [+5] for [+5] over Knihult [+6] for [+10] both CUT should be a winner
Larrazabal [-6] with a 2 shot lead on Wang [-4] while Sharma [-7] 8 up on Lahiri [+1]. so you could NOT shoot this "bomber" to WIN last week in Mexico, Shubhankar ???

stayed up and watched the 3rd round last night. broadcast started @ 11:30pm pacific and finished @ 4:10am. the wind picked up some for the late tee time compared to the first two days and it showed. course was even more of a BEAST than usual. I do NOT know HOW the membership can really enjoy playing it. reminds me of Oakmont in Pittsburgh with a USGA setup. VERY fast greens with wicked undulations and slopes. a LOT of double and triple breaks which lead to many three putts. and those bamboo bushes just off the fairways are NASTY. Sharma got in one on #17 and instead of taking an unplayable he tried to hit it and moved the ball about 3 feet. ended up taking a double. shot par 72 for the day tied with Matt Wallace for the lead [-7]. Grillo "blew up" with a [+6] for tourney [-5] tied 4th with "The Beef" and young Aussie Matthias Schwab (OWGR #579). "Geezer" Gallacher with the round of the day [-5] for tourney [-6] solo 3rd
well ANYONE'S tourney Sunday. 13 players within 5 shots of the lead so it comes down to WHO can stay OUT of TROUBLE. and putt these tricky, wicked fast greens

Was at the 2009 at Bethpage Black on Saturday and then returned Monday for the finish. Awesome time.
Looking forward to it.
Andy said you were a great guy.
Will definitely look u up if I get to Vegas.
Hey the midget Chawrasia fell apart. What looked like a winner became a loser. That sucked. Never would’ve bet him except he seemed the horse for the course.
Your right about it being very tough course.

I do NOT care IF Dougie Donnelly says sit is "the 2nd toughest course on the Euro Tour" I think the DLF G&CC just may be THE toughest course I have EVER seen ONLY because ONE bad strike of the ball it is DISASTER!!! Joost Luiten took a quad on #6 and a double on #13 to kill his round [+2] for [-2]. 2nd round leader Emilino Grillo bogied 3 of his 1st four holes and had B2B doubles on #13 & #14 [+6] for [-5]. Pablo Larrazabal hit in in the rocks on #16 and then bogied #18 [+2] for [-4]. already talked about Shubhankar Sharma's adventure with thebamboo bush on #17 for a double. IF he wasn't putting so well HE would have "blown up". AND if you do NOT hit it close to the hole on an approach shot GOOD chance for a three putt on those wicked fast undulating greens
Golf Channel broadcast starts @ 9:00pm pacific time with is 12:00am in New York. will definitely watch because it SHOULD be one hell of a finish. I think ANYONE within 5 shots of the lead has a chance IF they just stay OUT of TROUBLE and the leaders back off. LIKE the way Sharma is striking and putting. hopefully he does NOT do a Mexico and WINS. can NOT wait to see him at Houston Open and the Masters late March early April

question: is Shinnecock Hills that links course out on the end of Long Island where Retief Goosen won in 2004, Corey Pavin in 1995 and Raymond Floyd in 1986 ??? IF so I gotta like some of Euro links players like Tommy Fleetwood who was 4th last year @ Erin Hills

well so much for Shubhankar Sharma who does a "Mexico" the final round [+3] for tourney [-4] tied 7th with "Geezer" Gallacher. LOST the Luiten over Grillo match and Chawrasia CUT over Chris Wood BUT WIN with Sharma, Larrazabal and van Rooyen so go 3-2 and make a little money. Matt Wallace the WINNER in a playoff over "The Beef" both [-11] BUT Wallace birdie 1st playoff hole #18 and Beef par
NO Euro Tour next week. their next the PGA co-sponsored WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin,Texas. be interesting to see IF that 7th of Sharma's is enough to get him into the OWGR Top 64 to qualify

I am going to be VERY interested in the match play odds on "A Fat Barn Rat" (OWGR # 31). he has FOUR wins on the Euro Tour and TWO of them have been in match play tourneys including this season in Perth, Australia
