Seems like golf needs Tiger to be in the hunt at every tourney. For a golfer that hasen't won a major in 12 years this is nuts. But without Tiger golf seems to be a dead sport for TV ratings. Ever notice how Tiger always get the later tee off time in round one. There are many great golfers in the world too bad Tiger has slipped to well below great and TV still pushes his game.

well IF the 3rd round is any indication, the bugger STILL has "it". [-5] for tourney [-5] and tied 6th four back of the leaders
Problem is that this was still the lead at end of day with leaders at -9, I get why it happens but it is still kife. People who love golf don't need him to be relevant, TV does. Him being in hunt ruins coverage for me. The narrative tomorrow wont be that again he failed to win even with lead after 10 and none of leaders playing great but that this will help him going forward.

Tiger sure scared the HELL out of the sportsbooks when he had the lead. even people that really for the most part could care "fukk all" about golf will bet Tiger on the weekend esp in a major, even in run of the mill PGA events the Las Vegas sportsbooks will put up "Tiger props" like make the cut? top 10? and top 20?. they do NOT do that for ANY other golfer
