Rough go at WGC Mexico but those weeks will happen, time to bounce back.
Honda Classic 72-Hole Tournament Matchups
Luke List (+108) over Brian Harman - 1.5U
- Good value with List here on a tough track where the winner is usually less than 10 under. Harman is a steady player who does not miss a lot of cuts, but rarely is in contention. I put more stock in List's driving and ball striking than Harman's edge around the greens. List has a 2nd and 10th in his last 4 starts at PGA National, with an average true strokes gained of +1.13 in 16 rounds.
Lee Westwood (-124) over Matthew Wolff - 1U
- Horses for courses play here, as Westwood has 3 top 10s in 6 starts at the Honda with an average true strokes gained of +1.93 in 24 rounds. He won on the European Tour back in January and comes in off a decent 22nd place finish in Mexico. Wolff enters off back to back missed cuts and will be his first time teeing it up at PGA National. One thing to note is the wind typically blows here and I've yet to see Wolff really tested in windy conditions. A bit of juice on Lee but worth the price.
Matthew NeSmith (+117) over Harold Varner III - 1U
- Riding the hot hand with the rookie NeSmith, whose last 5 starts have been 32-17-30-11-6. First appearance at the Honda, but he's obviously playing great golf and building confidence. Varner got into contention out of nowhere at Riviera but ultimately faded on Sunday finishing 13th. Prior to that, he had missed 4 straight cuts and his history here isn't great, going MC-57-72-51 with an average true strokes gained of -0.30 in 14 rounds.
Wyndham Clark (+109) over Corey Conners - 0.5U
- Clark is quietly trending as well, coming into this week with finishes of 34-18-17. His first appearance at PGA National last year was a success too, finishing 7th. Conners has been nothing special over the past month with his last 3 starts going 45-MC-50. His only start here was 2 years ago, finishing 59th.
