OK Hawk here is my analysis after wasting 4 days from start to finish...
1- FOX, overall, did a very nice job considering it was their first golf tourney...way too much talking to open up with...but they finally caught on that we just wanted to watch golf...The SHARK..OMG..
2-TIGER SUCKS BG BIG time right now....he is embarassing horrible...I think he really needs to get back to being a "sex" addict if that's what it takes to get "back on track" OMFG..
3-McElroy could have been totally "in it" if he could have just nailed a few putts...can't remember a time when ONE person missed so many putts within 5 feet....easily could have shot 6 or 7 strokes better....SPIETH and DJ were guilty of some of those similar yips...
4-Totally refreshing seeing a damn good "links course" on our great shores...TOTALLY DIFFERENT than what we all have ever witnessed before...
5-CHAMBERS BAY is an ABSOLUTE BEATING....Just watching SPIETH having to hike down that hill almost 200 yards for that trophy presentation..typified what I'm sure every tour player left CH BAY saying to themselves.....fricken 10 miles up and down...what a TRUE TEST..Hope we are not playing back here again anytime soon..
6-Loved the changing setups for some of those holes...par 4 to 5 and vice versa and the big changes in yardage..LOVED iTHAT and I think, privately, some of the players liked that too
7-Amazing that a course could be built out of an old mine/quarry place...the political leaders(with RTJ's golf architecturing skills) that had the foresight to imagine a SUPER UNIQUE golf course out of an otherwise DUMP should really get much credit
8-Awfully funny watching OPEN CHAMPION double 17 then BIRDIE 18 and then watch crackhead DJ choke from 13 feet 3 putting was a pretty laughable ending...would have much rather watched 18 yesterday...that would have been great TV...
And last but not leastly......the fricken TRAINS... Plus Mt Rainier in background
There better somehow make that course more SPECTATOR friendly too..Gallery always kept st BAY...
Thanks for allowing my diatribe and look forward to reading others opinions of what they saw last weekend at a course and MAJOR that will NEVER be forgotten....
