IMO the same thing happened to Tiger. Once you change clubs there is a difference. You also go from being just another PRO to the GUY ! Your life is changed forever.
Back when Jack, Tom, and the others played, it was important to stay competitive week after week because it was how you paid your bills. Today it is all about the personalities, the sponsors, etc. If they don't win (so what) ? There is next week or next year. As far as money goes, already set at 23 years of age.
