After 34 straight hours in airports, and airplanes, countless delays and cancellations, I finally made it home from my Delta Airlines nightmare. I don’t know my favorite part about the whole experience…
It was either: The fact that Delta couldn’t even get me to my home state…I had to fly to Ohio and rent a car and drive the rest of the way. And Delta wouldn’t cover the cost of the rental car because they didn’t want to be libel if we wrecked because we had been awake for 30 straight hours. Direct quote for them.
Or it was: At one point they put us on a plane, boarded everyone, filled every seat…we waited for 10 minutes…and then they came over the intercom and told us … “Sorry folks we didn’t notice we don’t have pilots for this flight, so we are canceling the flight”. Nice work guys.
Anyway…here are the picks.
Kevin Na v Ryan Moore
Na four straight top 27 finishes. Moore has a 17th and then nothing inside the top 32. Just really like the form Na is in right now.
Goosen v Wheatcroft
Take away the Barbasol and Barracuda and Wheatcroft has 3 missed cuts our of the last 5, including a 41st. Goosen missed the cut at the US Open, and besides that hasn’t missed a cut since January!!! He also has some top 15 finishes mixed in there as well.
Henrik Norlander v Hunter Mahan
Norlander has 8 straight made cuts. Mahan finished 70th at the Travelers…and before than 5 straight missed cuts, and 8 out of 10. Love this pick.
Ken Duke v Mark Wilson
Again, take away that dumb Barracuda, and he’s got 3 straight missed cuts and 5 out of 6. Ken Duke isn’t going to win, but he missed the cut by 1 at the travelers, and before that 4 straight made cuts including a 9th.

I may be wrong, I usually am about match play "dog" picks BUT I think Jon Rahm bounces back from a very pedestrian Travelers and beats Zack Johnson who was even more average than Rahm in Hartford. Rahm is +140 in that tourney match play. Rahm REALLY needs to finish high this week OR it is Web.com for him next season. he went off @ 12-1 "to win" as 2nd favorite with Steve Stricker after Zack Johnson
like three "long shot" players to "carry over" their games from Hartford as "to win" plays Jerry Kelly, Patrick Rogers and Robert Garrigus all are 40-1 "to win". super long shot is Tyrone van Aswegen @ 100-1. he also played well in Hartford until the final round

well I'll be swizzled. "Ding Dong" beat Zack [-13] to [-9] but I do NOT think that tie for 14th is gonna be enough to keep Rahm on the main tour. to paraphrase "Johnny" in Slap Shot, "Web.com, here I come"
btw I FADED Ryan Moore in two plays because the guy had been "cut bait" the whole damn season until this tourney. GO FIGURE
