Watch the replay. On his set up he depressed the grass and the ball, without doubt, moved. Rahm caused the ball to move....so shouldn't that be a penalty?

They are FINALLY addressing this. Rahm for sure had to know it moved but didn't say a word. He's no Legend of Bagger Vance.

I am sorry for that brutal loss Nicky. You know, Rahm could have avoided the penalty altogether if he had called out the infraction to the officials. These days the PGA is going softer on the rules, but not cheaters. If he calls them over, they are likely to reposition the ball to where it was initially with no penalty.
There is just absolutely no way Rahm didn't know the ball moved. I play golf three times a week. When you have a ball in deep rough like that, your eyes are always on the ball trying to determine how much grass is going to catch the club. Rahm claiming his eyes were on the target is pretty hard to believe, but "possible" I suppose.
