Finnlander Mikko Ilonen absolutely destroyed Frenchman Matthieu Pavon 8&7. did NOT realize that Ilonen had WON the Volvo World Match Play in 2014 over Henrik Stenson. he has been pretty much "Mr Missed Cut" in his recent tourneys

AND tourney favorite Richie Ramsay two down to Tom Lewis thru #10. would be a MAJOR upset

Richie Ramsay on the 12th hole was a disgrace. looked like your average weekend duffer hacking away in the bushes. really surprised David Drysdale knocked out the 1st round. he had played well @ Irish Open and decent in the British. was one up on the Frenchman Jacquelin thru #15 BUT lost #16 & #17 to lose two down


the Scots in general pretty much STUNK. Ramsay, Drysdale, Jamieson and Warren all lose. that geezer Paul Lawrie, who has done NO-thing all season, their only winner. will he be this year Anthony Wall ???

WOW!!! WHAT a FINISH for the Spaniard Adrain Otaegui. just DESTROYS fellow countryman Alejandro Canizares 6&5 in the semi-fianls THEN comes back from down 3 thru #8 and 2 thru #13 vs the German Marcel Siem to WIN the next four holes with birdies and take their finals match 2&1

Otaegui had been "heating up" some lately with T-5th Porsche European Open [-10] & T-7th Open de France [-6]. also top 20 in both the Scottish Open [-5] and Irish Open [-12]. had been a bottom feeder or "Mr Missed Cut" the rest of his season

he had a LOAD of birdies the final two rounds with 6 vs 0 against Canizares and 6 vs 4 against Siem including that 4 birdie run to WIN the tourney
