US is favored and should be, all of their players have played Muirfield more times than the europeans. See much more advantages on the US side.
That said, more emphasis should be given to the US in foursomes and fourball. US definitively plays more together than the europeans, but gradually that is changing in the past few years. In any case, team play favors the US. Singles matches will probably go in favor of the europeans, since that is more of their style of play most of the time.
In golf, momentum usually is a deciding factor. Either playing well or bad, tends to show up and make a difference. All these guys are great golfers, so look for these turns.
As for the players individually, there are some guys that are hot. Jordan Spieth and Jason Day I'd put in this group. Guys that could be cold are Louis O and Zack J (not playing much, health problems).
