Im back after a 2 for 2 showing at The Bridgestone last week! Lets keep this streak going!
With a rare week off for the PGA due to the devastating flooding at The Greenbrier, the focus this week is over the pond at a very good field in Scotland. A lot of golfers use this tournament as a prep for The Open and has once again drawn a very strong field.
The one bet I have noticed and has stuck out to me is the tournament matchup Phil Mickelson vs Patrick Reed. I was very encouraged by Phil's closing 68 at Firestone, and with the Scottish Open returning to the venue where Phil won in 2013, I love him over the struggling Patrick Reed. Even at his current -150 price tag, this is the closest thing to a "lock" that I have seen for this particular event. Also, to add to the information, Reed is a relatively newbie to the Scottish links golf, so the experience is obviously in Phil's favor!
Let me know what you guy think!

as JDaws012 indicated, last time the tourney was played at Castle Stuart Golf Links the winner was Phil Mickelson @ [-17]. beat Branden Grace in a playoff. Phil went on to WIN the British Open the next week with a [-3] at Muirfield.
top 5 "to win" favorites this week
Henrik Stenson 8-1 Branden Grace12-1 Martin Kaymer 15-1 Phil Mickelson 15-1 Shane Lowry 20-1
last 5 Euro Tour winners playing this week
Thongchai Jaidee @ 40-1 (Open de France [-11] July 3rd) Henrik Stenson @ 8-1 (BMW International Open, Germany [-17] June 26th) Ashun Wu @ 200-1 (Lyoness Open, Austria [-13] June 12th) Matthew Fitzpatrick @ 40-1 (Nordea Masters, Sweden [-16] June 5th Chris Wood @ 30-1 (BMW PGA Championship, England [-9] May 29th
ANY time I see a recent winner 100-1 or more, it is definitely work a small $5 "lottery ticket"

OK going AGAINST Phil with one pick just because I think Martin Kaymer is going to have another solid tourney. Phil is either Top 5 OR "blows up" lately. Kaymer last 4 Euro tourneys: T-5th [France] last week, T-7th BMW PGA [England] late May,T-5th Irish Open [Ireland] mid May, T-6th Open de Espana [Spain] mid April
Scottish Open tourney match play
Martin Kaymer -110 over Shane Lowry Martin Kaymer -105 over Phil Mickelson Rafael Cabrera-Bello -105 over Andy Sullivan Joost Luiten even over David Lingmerth

absolutely BEAUTIFUL links course @ Inverness but TOUGH esp with 30 MPH winds 1st round. just 20 players out of the 155 starting field under par with the two leaders tied @ just [-3]. the tourney definitely wide open. supposed the be even STRONGER winds Friday with a good chance of rain showers

Saturday Inverness Weather forecast. relatively light winds with 50% chance rain late morning thru afternoon. top 20 players thru Friday tee off starting @ 13:25 (1:35pm) local time. Stenson and Mickelson go @ 11:00 (11:00am)

looks like rain off and on again for Sunday with relatively light winds. watched the end of the 3rd round today and it was links "survival golf" for the final pairings although there WERE some low rounds probably because of light winds. Tyrrell Hatton with a [-6/-10] to get to tied 2nd with Matteo Manassero [-4/-10] who JACKS a 3 foot putt for a birdie #18 or he would be alone in 2nd. I chanced the Italian kid yesterday @ 25-1 because of his [-5] round
Alex Noren leads with [-4/12] with Hatton and Manassero two back. Danny Lee [-2/-9] and Justin Walters [-7/-9] are three back with Andy Sullivan [-4/-8] and Graeme McDowell 12-1 [-3/-8] "lurking" at 4 back. BOTH Eddie Pepperell (T-2nd yesterday) and Branden "Dis"-Grace (T-4th yesterday) both "blew up" Saturday with [+4/-3] and [+2/-4]
Scottish Open adjusted odds after 3rd round @ Westgate Superbook [3rd round/tourney scores] Alex Noren +175 <<< [-4/12] 1st Tyrrell Hatton 11-2 <<< [-6/-10] [-6/-10] T-2nd Matteo Manassero 6-1 <<< [-4/-10] T-2nd Danny Lee 7-1 <<< [-2/-9] T-4th Justin Walters 25-1 <<< [-7/-9] T-4th Andy Sullivan 10-1 <<< [-4/-8] T-6th Graeme McDowell 12-1 <<< [-3/-8] T-6th Romain Wattel 40-1 <<< [-7/-7] 8th Martin Kaymer 30-1 <<< [-4/-6] T-9th Nicolas Colsaerts 50-1 <<< [-6/-6] T-9th Henrik Stenson 40-1 <<< [-6-5] T-16th FIELD 10-1
with a number of player shooting low Saturday the tourney is STILL wide open IF some one low on the list can shoot a "bomber" round. I went ahead and chanced Justin Walters @ 25-1 and Romain Wattel @ 40-1"lightly" and hope they can repeat Saturdays performance and BOTH Noren and Hatton and do a Pepperell and "Dis"-Grace

well Alex Noren [-2/-14] shot "good enough" Sunday to win by one shot over Tyrrell Hatton [-3/-13] and two over Nicky Colsaerts [-6/-12], Danny Lee [-3/-12] and Matteo Man"azz"ero [-2/-12]. I needed the Italian kid to shoot Nicky's round
I was VERY lucky that Martin "Kraut" got a birdie on 18 to save a "putch" with both "Lefty and "Konig Henrick" @ [-7]. I KNEW that when BOTH Mickelson and Stenson made the CUT day two after their HORRID opening rounds, I was in trouble. my four Kaymer match plays ended up 2-0-2 for the tourney and overall match plays went 4-3-2
