from what I saw on Saturday, it is Henrik Stenson's tourney to WIN. played MUCH more solid than Mickelson esp on the back nine. "Konig Heinrick" with 5 birdies with 2 bogies [-3] for the round vs "Lefty's" 3 birdies with 2 bogies [-1]. Phil was lucky to save par a number of back side holes where Henrik was hitting the greens
Stenson -120 over Mickelson my biggest bet of the tourney

I watched most of the round today and for sure Stenson was not making many mistakes at all and Phil saved himself over and over and over. His drives were inaccurate, his approach shots were regularly short and especially on the back Phil did not give himself very many scoring opportunities.
To me the concern you should have is Stenson is much stronger as a contender than a leader and Phil enjoys chasing for the win vs being in the lead. I did not see Phil gamble much at all, he was not pressing or firing directly at flags, so I think tomorrow might have a different result given the lack of major wins for Stenson and how Phil might be more aggressive, plus I dont know the weather conditions but that for sure is an issue.
If the weather is reasonable that is an advantage to Phil IMO..

I hope you guys are wrong and Phil comes in with a stronger mindset tomorrow. He's tried and true, think Stenson has by far the bigger ability to choke as he's never won a major, never ever. Philly has been winning them for fun lately.

well all Stenson has to do is keep it in play, hit his greens and NOT do a "Fat Baztard" Lowry @ Oakmont. the one thing that DOES make me nervous is Phil shot a [-6] 66 his final round @ Inverness last week
tacked on three small high odds "dog plays" for Sunday. I think the "name" players will be taking chances and might "blow up". Rose already had one explosion the 2nd round and Day has NOT had a birdie on the back nine this tourney
David Howell +180 over Justin Rose
Andy Sullivan +175 over Jason Day
Emiliano Grillo +180 over Rory McIlroy

Good thoughts regarding this final round guys. All of the pressure is on Stenson to win this thing. I am pretty certain he has never won a major and he is 41 years old...
LeRinkRat I agree with taking some longer odds chances in the 4th round. Sullivan +175 looks solid. I am not understanding the Cabrera Bello line against Southgate. I know Southgate is a virtual unknown but he wants to make the best showing he can at this stage of his career. I think +150 looks really interesting...

well I'm screwed. just watched Mickelson vs Stenson 1st hole. Stenson short his 2nd shot and 3 putt. Phil stiffs it for a birdie. 2 shot swing and Phil looks like he could shoot another round like day one of the tourney

well "Heil Konig Heinrich"!!! after that 1st hole I had visions of a 4th round "blow up" BUT that was about his ONLY mistake of the ROUND!!! that and the bogie on #11 and he shoots 10 birdies for 8 UNDER and 20 UNDER for the tourney!!! ya gotta feel BAD for Phil Mickelson. normally 17 UNDER would WIN a major. I feel VERY lucky to win my BET!!!

Yeah if someone told me that Phil shoots -6 today I would say he wins for sure, and Phil had several putts right there that didnt fall as well.
Ive watched Stenson many many times over the years, I've never seen two rounds like this at any time..in fact not many players would compare to his fairways and green stats given these conditions and that it is a major tournament.
No question Stenson earned this win, I like Phil and I was rooting for him but for sure this was well deserved...makes me wonder where the crap this game has been for Stenson in his career?
