Tournament Matchups

Pan (+110) over Stanley

Howell III (+120) over Cantlay

Finau (-130) over Fowler


Tailing Sacker on the Finau pick. He's right, Fowler has been god awful at Torrey while Finau has two Top 6 finishes the last two years. I would even say he has a good chance to win it this year!

No first rounds picks right now. I'll wait for the 2nd round to see if anything looks enticing. 

Also if you want to know why I picked someone, just ask and I'll try to answer before the bet goes off the board. No promises though....

I look at several things when handicapping, so I can't always tell you exactly why and I don't believe I need to justitfy my picks to anyone here either. I'm not trying to sell you anything, so why should I explain where I put MY money?

I'm just an average guy who likes golf, plays golf and bets on golf!!!

Course history mainly and a hyped up/disrespectful line. 

CHIII....5 top 10's in the last 10 years. Decent form with a T8 at the Sony.

Cantlay...horrible showing last year coming in at 51st and a MC back in 2013. He was in good form last year before the Farmers with a win at the Shriners and a T15 in the TOC. So the good form argument for Cantlay right now is a wash to me.

Good job. 
Horschel playing well but Rory seems to have turned corner. 
Tough going against Rory but very high odds so I get it.

Great week to start off the year! Tourny matchups went really well with a few blow outs. Had a good read on the 2nd round matchups. You just have to understand the line and what the book maker is trying to do. If you look at some lines, they look retarded. Those are the ones you dig into and find out why. Final round matchup was CLOSE! Came down to 18 and Horschel missed his birdie to push. That line was off. (+155) and it came down to 18, one putt!!

I like Rory's effort so far this season, think he could pick up a major. He started early. Is past his honeymoon, "I need to be home," phase. Looks sharp.
