Common gamblers philospohy: When you lose, it's because it's rigged and scripted or got a bad beat, when you win it's because you are smart and made a good pick.
What I don't get about the people that think it's scripted: There is still only 2 sides to the event, if you think it's scripted, then you need to handicap what the scriptwriters are trying to do, not the game. If you can't figure it out, then don't bet on it!
Just hilarious how people think it's scripted after the fact. Confirmation bias at its finest. IF games were being controlled, it's never at the player level. Only very select coaches would be in on it that make play calls or substitutes or through the refs. Bad coaching or bad reffing should not be confused with being scripted, though that's where manipulation would potenially happen |

Houston is playing terrible ball. Only thing going for them is olapido has been hurt and cavs game was enough for him to get his groove back. Aside from that - Raptors lost two in row vs good teams, will be looking to voice back and Raptors too well coached - they will pick them apart imo. |

Seattle might be a good play and might even be a winner... but now you are f $cked no matter what. 4 possibilities 1) play Seattle and it wins - you will be happy in the moment, but still on tilt and thinking about other losses and continue chasing until you lose everything 2) play Seattle and it loses - now you will be really mad at yourself for going on a forum and listening to strangers when you know you should have just taken a break 3) don't play Seattle and Seattle loses - you will be happy you didn't play and feel relieved 4) don't play Seattle and Seattle wins - this might be the worst outcome. You will feel like you lost money by not playing and be upset. Now you will come on the board looking for another winner and it's back to #1 or # 2
Best thing you could have done is not even come on the board or look at lines. only way to make money doing this is to be a complete robot and not think twice of any past losses or wins. Once you start making plays based on previous losses or wins, you will inevitably lose all discipline, go on tilt and lose. People don't lose at sports betting because of lack of knowledge. They lose because lack of discipline, lack of money management and they take it too seriously thinking they can make money everyday. No one makes money every day sports betting, not even the best of the best.

Take a few days off and whatever your risk amount - take that money and go buy something with it and spoil yourself. You will feel much better about your day. |

got clemson ML on parlay ... can buckeyes keep it within +7.5 should i hedge?
in College Football A wise man once told me if you are looking to hedge the last leg of a parlay, then you probably shouldn't have even put that team on your parlay in the first place. Don't hedge parlays unless it's a life changing amount of money at stake. But here is what i would do: cover the risk amount of parlay with half Ohio State ml and half with spread. Then wait for live betting and see how teams look on field and if clemson scores first, now you have much better odds. If Ohio State wins outright, you lost nothing, if osu loses but covers, you still win original amount of parlay, and if Clemson wins and covers, you won't be pissed that you gave away so much of your winnings

What a bad beat. Its one thing if osu came straight down the field, but to chuck up a floater like that was unreal |

I would bet on nets spread every game this season. Sixers might cover if they hit a bunch of those open threes and nets miss (they shot 41% g1 from 3), but don't think Sixers are the much superior team here..much better talent yes on paperIf 76ers are that bad, how come they had success and a good record this season? (and especially at home where they are playing today)
Down 0-1 with backs against the wall I have a heavy lean on 76ers. I didn't say they were bad lol. winning the game straight up and covering a 8.5 point spread are two different things. nets are better coached, Sixers are turnover prone, have terrible shot selection and aside from reddick, have either no shooting or streaky three point shooting. they have more talent no doubt, but it's clear to me their chemistry is off, and if gimpy embiid cant abuse nets small ball line up, this will be a close game.

hockey is the most random of all the sports for picking straight up winners:
https://www.vox.com/videos/2017/6/5/15740632/luck-skill-sports gambling is as potentually as dangerous as any drug....financially , it's worse than any drug...there is only so much coke you can snort or crack you can smoke. the real thing gamblers lose is time they will never get back. all the time and energy over last ten years I have put into watching and betting sports if I would have invested that into improving my skills and knowledge and building relationships, I would be much better off financially in terms of career... not too mention not losing all the money I have lost

I don't get how baseball makes the money it makes, as soon as football starts it's completely forgotten. NBA training camps are starting to get more headlines
