Heritage informed me that they had not made a decision yet about futures bets on division winners now that the regular season is cancelled. They said since the situation is unprecedented, they had no rules for it. They plan to make the rules now! I find that quite strange considering I thought books would have rules for everything. William Hill clearly states on their website that the only futures that are cancelled in the event of a shortened season are win totals. I would have assumed division winners would fall in that category but possibly not. Will different books have different rules?. I saw a post a few days ago in this forums that said all but cup bets are cancelled in one sportbook. This could be a very chaotic situation. Does anyone else know what other books are doing or plan to do? |

I lived in Las Vegas in the 70's and 80's and all the major sportsbooks had a free booklet of 30 or so pages which was put out monthly or possibly shorter. It listed all the sporting events in all the major sports for that month and you could write the opening line, the closing line and the results. It was a great way of tracking results, line moves and keeping up with what games were coming up. At that time you could call the company which made these booklets and order it on a subscription basis. I can't remember the name of that booklet and I would really like to get a subscription to it if it is still available because they were really handy. Can someone tell me the name of that booklet as I can't find anything like it online and I am curious if Vegas books still give them out and if you know where I can get it ? Thanks |

Found this trend when I was looking at Red Sox franchise history on Baseball Reference. In their 115 year history the Boston Red Sox have won the pennant every time they have reached or surpassed 90 wins and ended season in first place. It has happened 10 times in their history. They did it this year as well. Only time they reached 90 wins and ended in first place but did not play in the World Series was in 1904 when the Series was cancelled. Not sure if this makes the Red Sox a lock as the Rangers and their comeback victories scare me but I wanted to share this info with the community for those like me who love the Sox to win the A.L this year.
