You have a trade deficit because we have the resources and you give us money for said resources that is how trading works - so now you have not only proven you dont know how tariffs works, but neither know how trading works (just like your president) - if you want to go down that road you guys are only rich because you have been the main trading partner for the past 70 years where we have brought your overpriced “garbage”

Best case scenario, he goes out on Monday and says it was all a joke and retracts it (hopefully also steps down as president) then the effect will be there a month or two - worst case scenario, these changes are irreversible - if the rest of the world starts doing business with each other and leaves the US out (you don't have any resources that aren't available to buy elsewhere - so at some point it gets easier to decide to just leave you guys alone - if that's what you want) - then your economy will NEVER recover - this isn't the "normal" crisis - he can just yollo and remove it again a few weeks after he's done it - this could have very lasting effects for the rest of time and at some point there is no going back - depending on how long he keeps it in effect - this will change the way and who do business with each other 

Don’t worry when the counter tariffs take effect I won’t believe even the biggest MAGA person in the world will still support this economical road - what has happened to your market already is just what Trump did - if the counter tariffs take effect - your markets will basically collapse (you guys are not self sufficient - not even close I might add - which such a strategy would require you to be) - and yes Russia is sanctioned by you guys but that is mostly due to your alliance with Europe - now Trump is putting old alliances to rest - don’t be surprised if those sanctions is soon too be lifted - but Russia will only use you guys as long as it is beneficial for them - Trump will probably try make deals with them as they have a lot of the resources you guys need - but Russia will leave you for the dirt the day China ask them to

The fact alone that he like an idiot put them on everything and everyone - which hurts every American company that buy components from abroad (just as much as us) - where China and Europe counter tariffs not only doesn’t hurt us at all but also specifically hurt employments in Republican states - show who knows what they are doing and who doesn’t  -  you should think he atleast knew how they worked since he has had 4 years to plan this 

Tariffs punishes everyone except for the government - so it is basically just you guys accepting to pay more taxes on everything you buy  they work when it is the world that does it to a country - doesn’t work like he thinks when it is a country doing it to the world - then they just find other trading partners - expect your guys financial markets to take a big nose dive this week
