ESPN made changes to the RPI and Standings pages which corrupted the spreadsheet. The fixed version is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ch2fzog3d3fwavw/MLB%20RPI%20System%20Chase%202014.xlsm |

Yes, it is working. For today: MIA/ATL O7.5 (193.46) TB/STL U7 (111.77) I personally have not been doing the plays lately. Totals are so tricky.

BCap, Just thinking about other ways to make the picks a little more accurate. Have you considered factoring in the park factor for each stadium? https://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor You are a better math guy than I am so I'm not sure how you would take this into considertation but it definately is considered when the totals are set. Use the password 'rpi' to unlock a protected sheet. See Post #3 in this thread for more info. |

Not sure why the download link is not working but I am out of town until Sunday and can't fix it until then. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cap, That's your call but I would think there could be several days between games since the qualification gets tighter. I personally would leave it as is. Also note, that today's WAS/CHC play is in game #2 of the double-header. |

Curious if anyone has managed a query for this on Sportsdatabase.com? I am automating the pick for a spreadsheet and I'm getting stuck when there is more than one game that starts at the same time. sportsdb does not have the rotation number (that I can find). |

A better turn of events the last few days Cap. Good job. The COL/MIL Over would be a push, worst case, with two innings to go. I figure you dropped it due to the unusually high score of the COL starting pitcher. Do you have any parameters for when OU Scores should be dropped from consideration? Higher than 190 but less than ??? Thanks again for all the work! |

bD, Is the system to pick whoever the dog is at 2:00AM the day of the game (I guess opening odds) (post #185)? Also, if the Phillies were the 'offical' dog yesterday (post #182), they lost, why wouldn't today be G2? Current line at scoresandodds - MIA -118 vs PHI +108 |

bD, On 6/21, NYY became the dog prior to game time and lost. As a result, shouldn't today be a G3? 6/21 - BAL -109, NYY +104 |

I just bought the ticket. 70% on the ML and 30% on the RL. If they both cash, the COL series loss is a wash. I can't see them getting swept at home back to back, or by SD. I will say however, there have been a lot of things happening that I didn't see coming this year. BOL |

Monday - No RPI Plays. I am considering picking up the SF chase from the series they lost to COL. They are home against SD and have started to win again. Somebody talk me out of it. |

BCap, I'm sorry that I have not been archiving the daily data used to calculate the plays but on the chance that you have, I am wondering if we went back to the roots of the system, including using the pitcher data and dropped the squaring of the OU Total and dropped dividing the OU Score by the Total, and did the two seperate chases, where we would be. Thoughts? If you happen to have the data, I would be happy to research it. Canis. |
