Amazing stuff, twice already Angels on a verge of a big inning runner on 1st and a 3-1 count and twice a scorching liner straight to an infielder, and TWICE a hit right after those double plays. Fucking hell, bad luck.

You never see "thank you" type of posts.

My book (william hill) doesn't offer over/under or spreads on MLS, so I'm looking for a playable play..... If you were to place a wager on philadephia to win (not draw, or lose) what odds would you play it @? (for instance over +150, or under +190). Saw this late, I am no expert at this kind of thing. If I can take a NTL option or pk or pk, -.5 option, I'm likely to bet that instead of a +150 on a win, just for the insurance. Bit of a chicken like that. Hope you ended up waiting and didn't put a bet in! Galaxy with no Beckham isn't much of a difference I have to say. No doubt he's very special and does his things on set pieces but against inferior teams they can definitely get by without him (or Donovan, or Keane). Was a tricky card this week, just happy to end up + no matter what happens in the final game. |

I don't post until an hour or two before the games, out of sheer laziness. I know most people don't bet MLS cause they know anything about it, but because it's just another league that's there, so I might as well share what I know. I see it as an enjoyable homework assignment, and allows me to think through and justify my bets As far as betting forums for MLS, afraid not. For general MLS stories and forums there's always Bigsoccer and individual club forums (like Red Patch for Toronto, Metrofanatic for New York, etc) but as far as betting, I haven't seen anything, which is a bit of a shame. |

7pm New England vs Montreal - Team with horrendous away record that has put together a good streak due to home wins vs a decent home team in a winless streak - no play.
7pm Philadelphia vs Chicago - I'm surprised the odds are how they are, as Philly have turned it around and really, Chicago has had some great results but their extremely defensive style of play suits them against teams that are brilliant at home, and even then they don't get that away win. Philly are above average but nothing special, therefore Chicago will lately come out of their shell a bit more, perfect for Philadelphia. Philly has 4 straight wins at home and Chicago can hang so I'd hesitate taking them straight up, but a pk line is perfect here. Philadelphia pk 11pm Chivas vs Galaxy - I've been advocating Galaxy over away plays, and will continue it here even though this matchup hasn't resulted in many goals, however the Galaxy's strategy has changed. Chivas are typically a very defensive home team, but a feature here this season has been close low-scoring games against defensive away teams, and higher scoring matches against the teams who do attack. This is a night game, heat won't be a factor, Galaxy fans usually fill up the empty seats for this match so the crowd will be at 50/50, and Galaxy know the Chivas can't possibly match their firepower. Over 2.5 |

7pm Vancouver vs RSL - Vancouver are as solid a home team as there is in MLS, 1 loss at home all season and a mediocre away record has propelled them into 4th place. RSL are still one of the top teams in the league but they definitely aren't what they were the last two seasons, enough to justify a PK line here. Any time you get a team with 1 loss at home on a PK, take it. Especially if their opponent is struggling. Vancouver pk -111
830pm Kansas City vs DC - DC loses away from home against strong home teams. KC were a strong home team, until about a month ago - they haven't won in 4 home matches. Add the cup win midweek that might inspire them again - no play. 9pm Dallas vs Colorado - Colorado 2-9 away from home, that's all you need to know really. Dallas are just as woeful away but at home they are a very tough team to match. Signs of a resurgence are there for Dallas especially with a new Shea after the drama of the last weeks, can't say the same for Colorado right now. Dallas NTL +104/+237 1030pm San Jose vs Seattle - SJ can be held at home against defensive teams, and Seattle is not a defensive team away from home. Therefore I expect an open game. Over 2.5 -123 |

NY are undefeated at home, Houston have won 1 in 10 away (and that to one of the worst teams in the league in Toronto), can't go wrong with the Red Bulls tonight. Have fun, finally a weekend night match..

8pm Red Bulls vs Houston Dynamo - Take last week's results and flip it. That would be all the explanation needed but I will continue: Houston and NY are the league's only two undefeated home teams at this point of the season. The guys at MLS Extratime might have insinuated something about the Red Bulls which seems relevant: What's the point of killing yourself away from home, in 90 degree temperatures, when we could just get them at home? For some reason it seems that since the summer kicked in (literally, June 17th) they haven't won an away game, but they have still kept up with the pack heading into fall with a bunch of home victories. I thought it might've been the typical Red Bulls "summer slump" but in the last two years they were dropping points at home, so that couldn't be it. Houston have won 1 away game in 10, and that was at TFC who were looking forward to their CCL game midweek. Anyway, Red Bulls are a completely different team at home, and we have their away performances and last weeks game to thank for them being + money straight up tonight, which you should take whenever it is there. Or better still give yourself the insurance.
Red Bulls NTL +109/+253 |

What does everyone think?
Kuroda has given up 1 run in a billion innings but considering two of those starts were against Seattle, it doesn't really count you know? Other two starts were Toronto and Boston. Basically when each pitcher faces a good offensive teams that's 3/4ER in the bank. |

Decided not to play the first round, so many strange players with strange intentions, seeing all the strange scores and meltdowns has justified by reasoning.
Lacko? Ebden? Chardy? These are the players people are trusting???!! |
