replied to Which is more important in handicapping NHL.. in NHL Betting Yeah. I hate playing big money favs. Would rather bet 2 capable dogs and try to get one of them. Stats this early could be misleading as well as runs. I'm really into this stuff just trying to grasp which stats I should take more seriously than others. It always seems to me that lines are directly correlated to the stats, so sometimes its frustrating to cap a game, have a strong feel, and the book expects me to lay -200 on it. Obviously both are a big factor but it seems when teams are rolling they are pretty tough to stop, and vice versa (Buffalo). Trying to get a solid foundation of what to look for before placing an NHL bet. Some statistics I feel could be important are First Goal %, PP%, Goalie (big factor), home/road goals, and recent success. Lets chat a little bit guys!
