Agree Ot rule needs to be changed. For those worried the game would go on forever, it won't. Eventually a mistake will be made and you can even force them to go for 2. Game will not go on forever, just don't apply the college rules where you get great field position. Now the question is, why was this thoroughly dismissed when Chiefs and Ravens pushed for it 3 years ago? I am guessing it is because the owners are greedy and old-fashioned. They argued that for the players sake it makes them play more and could cause injuries, and yet what happened this year, we added another game. The difference is they get all that money from an extra game and get nothing for overtime. Remember these are the same owners, such as Mara from my lowly Giants, who made enforcing taunting their biggest priority of the offseason. They hate change and they hate if their wallets aren't getting fatter with any change that is made in the league. Guessing 90% of fans and even players want the OT rules changed. |

For a team with a QB and top OL pick on a rookie deal they are in such cap hell it is hilarious. Restructuring contracts to make it to the end. This is the Gettleman era folks. Spends like crazy every offseason and thinks he can field a competitive team without rebuilding or having the slightest understanding of modern football. But hey, they signed Kyle Rudolph at least. |

@vanzack I think it is fake, or at least the payout is exaggerated. Assuming it is real, I would want to hedge considerably but if I was in the same situation I would not be anywhere near liquid enough to hedge properly. This guy made a $25 parlay bet, he probably can't access a ton of money either. I highly doubt if this is real that the guy can even access enough capital to hedge which would be a shame. |

Blame rests on Judge and to a lesser extent Garrett for this one. We see it every week where coaches are risk averse and kick field goals on 4th and short. 4th and 4, 4th and 3 and 4th and 2 and each time went for the field goal instead of going for it. That is how you lose games. Especially when the other team is moving the ball with ease. (Some) coaches are all about self preservation instead of maximizing opportunity to win each game. After the turnover with just over 2 minutes left, Garrett sees a loaded box and brings in a heavy package and runs into a wall twice. He actually had a pulse and a creative brain during most of the game but when it gets to crunch time he goes back to his old ways. Play to get the TD at that point instead of putting yourself into 3rd and long (Giants had longest 3rd down distance to go in the league last year). Lawrence will get blamed for the offside but gutless coaching lead them there. |

Giants fan here and I expect WFT to win easily and own the trenches, but the short line scares me a bit, and it's a divisional game on a Thursday. WFT should be favoured by 5.5 at least in my opinion. Usually 2 types of games I like to avoid and they are both in play here. I think it's the week to play it "safe" after using Panthers week 1. I'm rolling with Browns or Bucs, likely the Browns since not a divisional game and they cannot afford to go down 0-2. |

So many terrible teams in the league currently. I know it's one game but AFC South is HORRIBLE and I think we all saw that coming. |

Panthers for me as well. Unusual week 1 where there isn't a digit digit favourite so might be spread out. I think the Niners will smash the Lions too but that should be the top owned team of the week which I usually try to avoid. Panthers have much better pieces on O, both defences aren't good, Jets receivers banged up, and it's a revenge game for Darnold against his old team. If he has a good game in him it's week 1. |

What concerns me about Jones too is that he still can't hold onto the ball. Turnover machine. Also he looks extremely uncomfortable doing play action under centre. He cannot turn his back on the d for a split second and then make a good decision. Only way to play action successfully with him is under shotgun which Garrett doesn't do often. Probably my favourite analyst for breaking down teams is Warren Sharp and he noticed the same thing and has been all over the Giants for not addressing their issues. I agree that Jones isn't a finished product, it's as much the system as him but they arent playing to his strengths either. |

3 games in the first 14 days for the Giants. Broncos with their d-line and then Thursday nighter against WFT, nightmare start if O-line isn't up to speed and Barkley isn't 100%. Kenny Golladay already on record as saying that this team will probably start slow, you never hear that from a prized free agent signing. |

@DB51daBEARS It's all about context. In the first half Giants had 4th highest run rate in the league on early downs at 51%. Only Ravens, Titans and Pat's had a higher rate. Elite OL and running scheme with the first two and running QB for the latter. Giants do not fit a run heavy scheme. When facing an 8 man box, they ran the ball 70% of the time in the first 3 quarters. You would think at halftime they would adjust but they didn't, and in the 3rd quarter they ran the ball at a top 10 rate despite being in the lead at halftime for 5 games all season. So when you look at the numbers overall it might seem normal, but based on game situations they run it into 8 man boxes and dont adjust to the defence and they also stick to running when losing. |

As a lifelong Giants fan I have to disagree. To me they are clearly the 3rd best team in the division at best. The D is overrated, Giants were fortunate last year to play a bunch of backup QBs and terrible starters. They don't have a pass rush either. OL is horrible, and Daniel Jones might be one of the 5 worst starting QBs in the league. Finally, and most importantly, the coaching staff and management team might be the worst in the league. Gettleman is clueless and Jason Garrett is running the offence with what can best be described as a 1990's era philosophy that is far too reliant on first and second down runs. Giants were near the top of the league in neutral game script runs and also run % when playing from behind. This was without Saquan for most of the year too. This team is so far behind others from an analytical standpoint they aren't even playing the same game. The other teams in the division definitely have flaws as well but the Cowboys and WFT should easily beat them over the course of a season.

Referee already had a history with the Chiefs. The Super Bowl was the latest chapter.
in NFL Betting Tampa dominated the game and credit to the team. I did not take a side (just the under and a bunch of props). But the flags got out of hand. Yes you can argue that most of these could be justified enough, but there were plenty that were pretty soft and it is clear that the refs backed off at half time. It absolutely changes the dynamic of the game, and again, you can have a team be clearly better but also get help, which is what we saw, whether intentional or not. BTW, In 10 Superbowls Brady's team has had more penalty yards once (05 vs Eagles). Not sure if that is just a Patriots thing or a Brady mystique thing or both but remember that if/when he gets back to SB |

I agree with a lot of the points by Andarmac, love his insights when he posts (even if this was an old thread). The one thing that I find hard to quantify is the impact of Mahomes, Reid and the coaching staff. If you replace Mahomes with Matt Ryan and replace Reid with Dan Quinn and his old coaching staff, the Chiefs are basically the Atlanta Falcons as far as talent on paper. The Bucs would destroy them. Mahomes SHOULD be running for his life all game, but wouldnt surprise me if he is making play after play. I feel like the spread is bang on, and personally love the under if anything |

No mention on the broadcast of the blatant helmet to helmet hit by Cunningham by Allen on the designed run in OT? Followed up by the "illegal block" call? Not a Bills fan by any means by calling that helmet hit puts them in FG range easy. |

Didn't look like much from Barrett but the real missed call there was the arm hook by Delaurier. Watch the free throw again Delaurier has the UCF player (not sure of his name) in a total arm hook he has no chance to use his left hand to get the board. I saw it instantly in real-time surprised no one on the broadcast mentioned it.

You can't go an hour every Sunday without getting numerous reminders that most coaches cannot manage a game or the clock.
Tonight the Giants decide NOT to go for it on 4th and short in Dallas territory TWICE yet when they they get 4th and short from their own 35 they do. Barkley runs for a first down with about 70 seconds left near midfield. Giants have three timeouts. They decide NOT to call a timeout. What happens? They burn time off the clock, look disorganized, and take a sack for 13 yard loss. 70 seconds left, three timeouts, after a run play. How do you not call a timeout?

Can't stand Spieth and his slow play but he is in a good spot.

Spieth always tends to be a wire to wire type when he wins tournaments. Would not expect him to come back to the field at all today likely a 68-69 round. At this point the leaderboard might as well be Spieth, Rory, Mickelson
