I'm flying from vegas to missoula, mt on the 24th which is sunday. when is the best time to book online for the lowest price? I'm assuming they have a number of flights set per week for dedicated routes and the sooner you book the cheaper the ticket. when I checked early ths week they had non stop flights for around $175 serviced by alaska, now they have united and alaska but both require 1 stop for about the same cost, can I expect to find new non stop flights scheduled for next week say starting monday?

I'm looking into a career that would provide a sense of self pride and steady work(something that will always be in demand and can't be outsourced) I have decided on either CDL training or becoming a professional chef. I will get straight to my questions... 1. If I do the driving I want to get a class A CDL with passenger endorsement. I was told I would have to get the class A first, then go back to the dmv and pass the test for Class B with passenger endorsement. Basically it's two completely different tests, the A is done using an 18-wheeler, and the B is done using a bus, and there's also a separate written test for the passenger endorsement. Is all of this correct? I want the class A with P end. because I do not want to drive OTR long term(hopefully not at all). My plan is to drive pass/shuttle buses and only resort to applying for class A jobs if I have no other option. The CDL classes for everything takes about two weeks M-F 8-5 2. The other training I'm interested in is becoming a chef. The culinary academy have two courses, one is the two year on-the-job training course(limited to participating partners), and the other one is a 13 week course to be a professional chef(around 470 total hours). What would be the main difference other than OTJ training is longer and you can earn while you learn? What is the difference between a sous chef and a professional chef? I have thought about the the pros and cons of both professions and the driving probably offers better pay, but it's much harder physically and not as secure. One serious accident and you can lose your CDL license and your livelihood. I have attended orientation and the next step is signing the forms and intake. I need to make a decision by Thursday this week. I would appreciate some suggestions if you have experience in either field. What do you like about your job, what don't you like about it, and are you happy with your decision? |

I'm curious if you even read the title of your own thread? What's in it for a guy to get married
I guess you can ask the same question pretaining to just about everything in your very existence. What's in it for a person to get a higher education when one can support himself/herself with menial jobs that offer a steady paycheck but little self-fulfillment... what's the benefit of establishing meaningful relationships when one can blend into the mainstream living a life of peaceful anonymity... The better question is... In taking such risk to attach oneself emotionally and financially to another entity capable of great destruction, how much risk is too much?

Bro, it looks like you have a good grasp of reality and what you have to do to set your life straight. May I just offer a word of encouragement and share with you this wise adage... "He who lives in the past, goes downhill very fast. Today is the day you should focus on, because yesterday's deeds are forever gone. Wish not that your record survives, wish only that your sport still thrives."

Sounds like maybe she does like you but she is waiting for you to do something like that to her. A girl wants to be wood off her feet. You just have to be honest with yourself and admit you dont feel like that for this girl and you arent willling to do that for her and stop leading her on. Because if you were that into her in the first place taking a break from her would never have even been a consideration. Last week you told me I was in my prime, I should be swinging. Jerry: Swinging? What are you, out of your mind? Look at you, you're disgusting. You're bald, you're paunchy, all kinds of sounds are emanating from your body 24 hours a day. If there's a woman that can take your presence for more than 10 consecutive seconds, you should hang on to her like grim death. Which is not far off, btw. Oh, that reminds me, before I take my last breath, can you have them send over an Asian woman? |

Shooter btw- please disregard my silly comparison, it's unreasonable to even discuss those subjects in the same sentence as they serve completely different purposes.

I have a dilemma, I got the bug and things went out of control very quickly. My original intent was to buy a 22 rifle for plinking, then I looked online for videos and the 22's just didn't seem very exciting(there's hardly any noise or recoil, much like shooting a pellet gun). After doing some research I bought a Sig 556(came with a free 522), a Howa 1500, and a Winchester Wildcat. Currently they sit at my local ffl cuz I didn't bring the proper documents when I went to pick them up. I was told for a non citizen they require prove that you have established 90 days of continuous occupancy at your present address. My plan was obviously going back with the paperwork, but I guess I'm getting cold feet for several reasons.... 1. I worry if having this purchase on record could affect my future application for citizenship 2. How long will it take before I get tired of my toys and develop an addiction to acquire bigger and more impressive rifles 3. What type of enjoyment can I really extract from firing these guns, I mean once you've mastered 100 yds you'll want to go 200, then 600, 800, 1000 and beyond. It will be a constant drain on the wallet and to shoot long distance a decent scope is not cheap(something I found out later. I convinced myself I must get the guns cuz they were unbelievable deals and I can save up for the accessories later) 4. The gun laws are everchanging, what's ok today may become obsolete in the future. I think the single bolt rifles will always be fine, but assault style rifles like the Sig 556 may become illegal(I believe it's already against the law to own them in a few states) Factoring everything into the equation, the original cost of ownership, cost of ammos(stock or reloading), club membership/range fees, regular maintenance/supplies, etc. I have come to this conclusion on my next course of action... 1. Bring the paperwork to the ffl and pick up the guns. Maybe keep the Howa and Winchester, sell the Sigs. 2. Return the guns and pay the 15% restocking fee and shipping 3. Keep the guns and try to sell them after a few months when they're out of stock, thus more likely to recup my total investment, perhaps even make a small profit
I know you some of you guys are true gun enthusiasts and love your hobby. For me, frankly, I just don't know if in the end the money, time and investment outweighs the reward. I know this might be a silly comparison, but the satisfaction of mastering a serve or shooting a jumper would be just as rewarding with far less financial commitment. Yes, I got the guns cuz I was bored and they looked cool, and now I'm having second thoughts |

Did some checking around, the only outdoor shooting range with long distance target is Desert Sportsmans Rifle Club, but they're limited to members and to become one you have to sign up with the NRA($25 yearly) and pay a yearly club membership fee of $200. The only other place I found that's open to the public for long distance shooting is the following... Take the 15 south and exit at Sloan

I can see your point if you're taking about an athlete's performance over the lifetime of his career...i.e. batting average, free throw percentage, etc. some months/years he will do better or worse. If a guy is batting .350 for 2 years straight you can probably expect his numbers to decline, which is "regression to the mean". The only problem with applying that theory to something like roulette is that it's a completely random event. Yes, according to the "law of large numbers" the blacks and reds will even out in the end, but unless you have unlimited bankroll and there's no table limit the practice is futile. If probability worked like that we'd all be rich. |
