Fowler wanted an opt out after 1 year. Orioles had no interest in offering that. Rizzo thought he was a gone and sent him a text. Adam Jones and Chris Davis both talked to Fowler and was told he would be coming to spring training this morning but instead he shows up at Cubs.
Sounds like shady operations by Theo and Fowler. Good riddance he turned down $16.8 mil QO for one year and now won't even make that over 2 years |

Os restructured gallardo deal. 2 year guaranteed $22 mil with option for 3rd year at $13 mil and $2 mil buyout

Gallardo and Fowler will not put you over the top and a lack of draft picks does not bode well for the future either. Wouldn't be surprised to see Buck start looking for a way out of town. Buck isn't going anywhere. I don't feel like looking it up but I'm pretty sure dexter is a switch hitter. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit 25+ hr next year |

I believe Gallardo's GB rate is why the O's took the gamble. I haven't looked at any of his numbers and am going by pure memory so I can be completely wrong. Yes he has been declining but they needed an inning eaters and took a flier.
I wasn't happy with giving up their pick to sign him and the Fowler signing I feel the same way. Im less upset with the Fowler signing but losing your 1st 2 draft picks wasnt worth it in my opinion especially when your farm system is thin with talent.

Angelos isn't cheap and you should read up more about the Nats/O's MLB legal battle about MASN because that is a huge reason the O's are being careful with their spending. Angelos outsmarted the Nats and MLB as part of the agreement for the Nats being moved into the Orioles TV market and because Angelos outsmarted them and they agreed to a deal that properly compensated the Orioles for stealing their market share the Nats are crying poor and the MLB is backing the Nats. The O's wont lose that case in court and have every right to stand their grounds. When that case is settled the O's will open up the purse a little more but they are still a mid market team and will never spend like the large market teams.

Griffey never juiced and was by far the greatest and most prolific player of this generation hands down. His offense, power and defense have been unmatched. Unfortunate he had those injuries he might have had a legitimate shot at the HR record

Bundy has to be in the Orioles 25 man to start the season or the Orioles have to waive him. He signed a major league contact when he was drafted. Difficult situation for orioles since he not quite ready but they can't cut ties with him because of his talent

Gausman is in the rotation. He was never dropped from the rotation. They were managing his innings to make sure he had enough left for of they made the playoffs. They were also trying to get norris going to possibly trade him mid season after his struggles to start the season.

Does another situation like the Petit family in Chesire have to take place before people start taking home invasions serious?
They were committing a felony and their decision led to their assailant being killed. Maybe not murder charges but they should be charged for manslaughter or murder 2. They are the ones responsible for the death. You want to act like scum of the world then prepare to accept the consequences. |

In reference to your post above about nba. You are exactly right. It's why I pounded the suns last night +8.5. They were in must win mode as they pretty much had to win out to make the playoffs. Dallas already locked up the #7 spot so it didn't matter rondo was back last night. They were just going to coast and if the game was close in the final minute of the 4th squeak it out, which they did. 8.5 was too much for the situation last night. That's situational capping something cg hasn't seemed to grasp |

sounds like you have never bet baseball before.
Its the first week of the season. Fielders are not in mid season form and will make mistakes. Runners will make stupid baserunning mistakes. Pitchers dont have their command and release points perfected quite yet and have not built up the stamina yet to take them deep into games. There are little sabermetrics available to teams for what pitches to throw, what are the cold hot zones, did this hitter lose bat speed, is this batter focusing on going the other way this year instead of being dead pull hitter, etc Its the first week of the season expect sloppy play until May 1st. Everything you had happen to you tonight has happened in baseball before many times. Pedro Martinez pitched a 10 inning no hitter and lost for god sakes. |

Another coin flip game he wants to bet.
OU 46th offensive efficiency, 6th defensive efficiency, 20th in nation at not allowing FT attempts, 73.8% (#37) free throw shooting MSU 15th offensive efficiecny, 46th defensive efficiency, 205th in nation at not allowing FT attempts, 63% (#339) FT shooting MSU has the edge on the boards but cant hit FTs. So in a game that is a coinflip and might be decided by FTs you are chosing to back a team that shoot FT awful vs a team that shoots them You really cant help yourself but pick these type of games. OU: kenpom #11, BPI 12, Sagarin 15 MSU: Kenpom 16, BPI 17, Sagarin 14 Spartans could very well win, however. They are playing great ball, Izzo is a factor, and they will rebound great. But why pick a coin flip game that the Sooners could just as easily come away with a W |

You have no clue how to cap ncaa. You go strictly by feel and ignore all the numbers and power rating. Notre dame was the better team and me along with others warned you to stay away from this game.
If you want to be a pro bet based on the numbers not what you feel and like |

Whats the backup plan when he's dead broke? Goose has given CG some awful money management/betting size advice in this thread. Earlier he was telling him he had to bet X amount in order for CG to make X amount a month and was saying it wasn't a big deal. Even when someone pointed out his bankroll he said he has to do it to survive while completely ignoring the variance and exponentially increasing his risk to ruin. CG should have never been betting more than $200/game based on his bankroll from the beginning. Every month he should have readjusted his bet size to 1% of his current bankroll. His bankroll never justified his bet sizes and it was only a matter or time before he went broke or was on his way to going broke. Dropping bombs and increasing his bet size are amateur hour. If you hit cool but its still the wrong play. CG should have gotten a part time job as a bartender, host at a casino, club promoter, or something in the service industry (thats what vegas is a service industry and CG imo would have done well in that field and probably enjoyed it somewhat while possible getting in contact with some big time people) as he built his gambling bankroll to the point where he could bet the amounts to cover his monthly expenses. I dont think CGs current bankroll makes it to June 1st and then who knows what path he takes to stay in vegas. The aftermath will be quite the show. |

not all that surprising. BYU defense is atrocious and anyone who has watched them this year knew that. I've seen them give up similar leads in games this year
140th defensive efficiency 196th defensive eFG% 245th forcing turnovers 239th 2pt FG% 269th block% wet paper bag on defense |
