I think Floyd Mayweather is feeling pretty good right now.

LOL, it was a mistake on their end. I just called and they said the ticket will be regraded. Still, there's hardly any other comparable heart-sinking feeling (in wagering) than to see your supposed winnings disappear. |

Crap, my screenshot & paste didn't work. Anyway, my ROMA/REAL MADRID over 1.5 +116 bet at the half was cancelled. |

Does anyone know why this may have been cancelled? After you're done laughing at my whale-like wager, I hope you can answer me before I call the book.

in Gaming Industry - US Hey, a relative got me hooked up with BetODog in December because I was told about their easy payouts (5Dimes made me jump through hoops to validate a credit card that I had destroyed because the security was compromised in an unrelated manner). It just so happens that last Tuesday, I went over my $300 collection threshold, that is, I was down more than $300. I was making wagers through their backdoor site as I thought their main site was temporarily down. Then on Wednesday, I was blocked. I thought they blocked me because they wanted to collect, which I thought was BS because it's only if you're in debt on Monday of each week that they collect. So I contacted their 1-877 number, which was just a line to make wagers, not the actual book. I then emailed them, but didn't hear a response, so I figured I'd hear from them Monday at which point I'd pay them and then never use them again. But I heard nothing. That's when I did some online digging and found the same information that MayaMigs posted. You could see where the "O-Dog" comes from, his nickname. It's almost like this was inevitable. This guy flaunted his lifestyle. Even if he didn't have goons threaten someone to the extent he cowered to the local FBI office, it's like he'd eventually get caught. Surprised he didn't get nabbed years ago. But this is just another tale of how the insatiable human will for more undid someone. This Owen Hansen wasn't content with what he had. He wanted more and more, so it's no surprise he eventually got mired in the drug trafficking trade, where obviously, the money can far eclipse anything that can be brought in from gambling (learned this from the meeting of the Five Families in The Godfather ;-) ). As for my piddling little debt. I don't think anyone will ever try to collect such a relatively small amount. Why risk having the vice squad come after you for that? And if someone does eventually contact me, I'll just simply ask that those I know get what's due to them (my relative and some of his friends were well into positive territory) before I pay anything out. |

To paraphrase Steve Spurrier about Georgia, "They get all these 5-star recruits. I don't know what happens to them once they get there."

And of course, I just noticed your post. Damn, and I thought I was going to be special in turning people's attention to this obscure game. But like I alluded to, it will be the only game on the ESPN family of networks at its time, so there will be an inordinate amount of coverage leading up to kickoff. |

Charlotte 49ers +4.5 at Georgia State Wayyyyyy under the radar, but Charlotte's OL coach & recruiting coordinator + one of the figures to get the program going recently died at the age of 44, so obviously, this is going to be one of those emotional "let's win one for..." types of games that always seem to end in victory for the affected team. This is their first year in "Division I", but last year Charlotte went 5-6, losing 5 games in single digits of which two games were against competitive FCS teams James Madison & Charleston Southern. They got slapped around by powerhouse Coastal Carolina, but that team could have been competitive against most MAC, Sun Belt, C-USA teams last year. This year, they return 16 starters which will be a help against a "bad" team like Georgia State which got throttled in most its games last year. It may be a dumpster fire of a game, but what else are you going to do @ 3:30 PM on Friday, September 4th? It'll be the only game in town, airing on ESPN U.

Up here in the aerie, searching for FlamingoBarnes! I'm guessing you're tired of researching and doing write-ups only to have some trolls nip at you. Anyway, if you're around, what do you think of ATL -11 Orlando tonight? Personally, I think it's a wee bit too hefty. Vucevic has been playing lights out recently and it seems to the Hawks' Achilles heel is effective 7-footers. On the ATL offensive end, maybe Horford can draw him out for Millsap to come in and clean up on the boards. So I expect Millsap to have a big night, especially against a past-his-prime Channing Frye. But note that Bud might rest a hobbled Teague tonight. Still, Mack and Shroeder are clearly capable of picking up the slack. If anything, I really like the over 195.5. Maybe that'll be my play.

Regarding GSW vs. ATL, I wonder who Coach Bud would stick on Thompson? We all know Korver has stepped up his D, but could he really go toe-to-toe with Mr. 37 all game? Perhaps, Sefolosha would start in place of Korver? Or move Korver to SF and have Carroll guard Thompson? (I always ask myself, what would Bob Weiss do?) Anyway, talking about the present day, the line against the T-Wolves is 17. Ick. That's too much for my comfort zone even though I don't expect Bud to give any starters significant rest since the next game after this is on Wednesday. I'm guessing the MIN team over/under will be 91-92, but who on that team is going to put up points against the ATL D? It seems that they'd "take it easy" but I don't think Coach Bud would tolerate it. So I might just take the MIN team under. In addition, Mo Williams & Zach Levine are two of the weaker defensive point guards in the league (if you care for the ESPN Defensive Real Plus-Minus stat, Williams is ranked 64 of 81 among PGs and Levine is ranked 81 of 81), so I expect Teague to have a field day, so whatever prop you see for Teague, take the over. I know I will. |

I had a feeling that in the recent past, Teague has been able to hold his own or even outplay Westbrook, despite the former being on an inferior team. So I looked up the last 3 matchups in which Jeff Teague and Russell Westbrook have gone head-to-head: Westbrook 6-21 shooting, 1-6 from 3, 11 assists Teague 5-15 shooting, 0-2 from 3, 6 assists Westbrook 5-18 shooting, 2-6 from 3, 9 assists Teague 7-12 shooting, 0-0 from 3, 5 assists Westbrook 9-21 shooting, 1-4 from 3, 11 assists Teague 9-13 shooting, 1-2 from 3, 9 assists Obviously, these games would have to be viewed in context, but I think it's fair to say that Teague has fared well despite, again, being on an inferior team. Things are different now. Given the circumstances I would expect Teague to outplay/outshine/out-everything against Westbrook tonight. Let's see. Let's hope.

At 3:03 PM on 1/2/15, I placed a prop bet for the Hawks to win the Eastern Conference +1500 (won my Hail Mary ML bet of OSU over Alabama, so I was spending my ill-gotten gains on some NBA/NFL prop bets). Today, less than two weeks later, it's at +465. Even when I placed the bet my thought was all they have to do is make the Eastern Conference finals and, say, they're up against the Bulls, who eventually claim the #1 seed are around -220 favs to win the series, I could hedge and make money either way. But I don't know if I'd hedge anymore. Damn! They's for reel! They're clearly in the driver's seat for the #1 seed. I know, there's still a half season to go, but I don't see how they falter like they did last year when Horford got injured. Man, this is fun. I've been a Hawks fan since the team had Tree Rollins, Dan Roundfield, Charlie Criss, Spencer Hawes' dad, congressman Tom McMillan, fast Eddie Johnson and John Drew (who, I think, was snorting lines of coke on the court in between time outs), and the late great crank Skip Carey was the voice of the team. I live in Los Angeles and all the Lakers fans would rather talk about Atlanta and how that team was put together rather than commiserate about Kupchak's stewardship over their team. |

I didn't think any of the Cantor-operated books offered squat, so whatever you managed to finagle at the Hairy Palms, kudos to you. As for South Point, from what I've experienced, it's the best for its liberal drink policy, that is, liberal for Vegas these days as I think you need to bet a minimum of $100 to get 2. Perhaps if you submit multiple $10 parlay/teaser cards, they may give you one. In addition, if you're looking for a "festive" atmosphere, I'd say SP ranks up there among the best, especially on NFL Sundays. Plus on those days, they have some $1 ($2?) hot dog deal that seems popular, that is, if you're into glutting down multiple tubes of minced hog hooves. Bling, my problem with the SP casino is that the layout is so sterile and unappealing, like they just dropped a bunch of gaming tables inside a dingy, third-rate Armenian dining hall.

Could it be addition by subtraction? Could Boateng & Muntari have been so toxic to team cohesiveness, their exile means the team will play better together? I dunno. It's not like Ghana has completely crapped the bed this WC. I think I'll take a flyer on Ghana +.5. Right now it's at +111 at my book. It hasn't moved, though Portugal -.5 has gone from -126 to -131, meaning that $ is coming in on them. Note: I just hit the "refresh" on the lines and now Ghana +.5 is +114. |

For all NFL history buffs
in the 1980 divisional game, Dallas scored 3 TDs to ATL's 1 FG to win 30-27. today, Seattle scored 3 TDs to ATL's 1 FG but ATL won. That 1980 ATL team was probably the best in franchise history. I still remember being an inconsolable 7-year-old after that game. |

I'm sensing a low-scoring slugfest. Georgia, despite all the defensive talent that will be earning paychecks on Sundays, was always undisciplined. Maybe Grantham's (UGA DC) 3-4 scheme is not the ideal set for players that freelance a wee little too much and don't stay in their lanes consistently. Despite some people contending that UGA righted the ship towards the end of the season, don't forget that GT and Georgia Southern racked up huge chunks of yardage. And lest we forget, Buffalo, UK, USCeast, and Tennessee had a decent amount of success against all this vaunted talent.
The point I'm trying to make is that you should beware interpreting Bama's ground game as one that will find analogous success against ND as it did with UGA. ND, while it's stacked with talent, is a solid enough unit to stop the ground game, forcing McCarron to toss it around a little more than Saban may want. That said, I wouldn't be surprised by a Bama win of 20-0 or 17-10, but I doubt we're going to see many plays in excess of 20 yards, the kinds of plays that are friendly to over bets. I'm assuming an O/U of 41. I'm only going to play the under. |
