You all are missing the point. What Bator is trying to articulate is that these guys are hanging a jersey of a player who barely played for them. Reeks of desperation no? A better question to restate: Has there been any indication in the last 20 years that this has not been a Mickey Mouse Op? He is not making an indictment on tonight, but rather stating facts and red flags. Allow me to summarize what he is saying: indeed it is a decent spot, but can you trust the orlando tragic?

Well just in this series, SC was a 16/16.5 pt dog in 2011. Oregon had a ton of turnovers etc, their O line gave up a ton of sacks.

The problem in doing that comp is that this current D is historically Bad (SC) and this Oregon team is HISTORICALLY up there as the best. Nix aint Darron Thomas.

Maybe you are right. But great coach? Based on what sample size? You need superstars to win in this league, ask “pop”. 

The more sensible view, imo, is to look at it from the SUNS vantage point, will the SUNS bring it?

Love him or hate him (mostly the latter), RW always brings it, every game, you have guys with the spotlight opportunity that will bring it with the league and world watching. The problem for the clippers: really soft bigs (fairly useless frontcourt). When opposing teams penetrate and kick, interior forces help and so teams get easier looks on the perimeter. Zu gets beat up, Plumlee is Plumlee, and MM is hardly used by Lue(same for RoCo) for inexplicable reasons. 

But the key here is the SUNS. They traded away their depth and are strictly dual alpha reliant. Yes, the likely scenario is KD/DB scoring at will, but this team is also very soft and lacks chemistry which has been evident for a long time, a situation offset and masked by Durant's amazing offensive abilities. 

Not touching this as I have zero trust in Lue and his 5 guard rotations, but another backdoor is very possible depending on the Sun's mindset.

I am sorry...but are you serious?  A generational BIG who is the best in the business and who helped deliver a title? Recently his absence alone dropped all LAL production on both ends of the court. You also CANT afford all of that plus Lebron...so it is not an A/B comparison between the options.
